“Amazing Service, Decor and Food for the Price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

After reading some negative comments about this restaurant i was confused how some could have it so wrong.
It is proper high french cuisine and one of the best restaurants in Cartagena, hands down.
Having lived in this city for 8 months and eaten out considerably, this will be our new place to bring our friends.
The three of us dropped 440000 CP which included a bottle of wine. It was definitely worth it. You get what you pay for.

“What a disappointment!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

This is a beautiful restaurant inside the Hotel Santa Clara and it was highly recommended. Although the service was excellent, the food was not. Three of us ordered their signature dish which consisted of fish rolled in bananas and it was bland and tasteless. Another member of our party ordered a Filet Mignon almost rare and came in overcooked. They were very gracious and replaced it with one properly cooked. For being an expensive restaurant they need to review their menu.

“International quality food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

We loved everything about this restaurant. Setting, food, wine and service. It is certainly international standards, but also you should expect international pricing! Would definitely return - best meal we had in Cartagena.

“Excellent restaurant in perfect surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

This restaurant was recommended to me and I am SO glad that I tried it. The Amuse Bouche was very tasty and interesting. The Beef Carpaccio was presented elegantly and tasted very good. I had the prawns in the tomato de arbol, the tomatoes were a local fruit and complemented the prawns extremely well. It was the first time I had tried the Yucca, like a potatoe, and it was crunchy on the outside and sweet inside. The different textures worked very well.
We ate on the patio, which was very romantic and beautiful. There were sounds that reminded me of grasshoppers, and I was told they were little frogs in the very picturesque tropical garden surrounding us. To finish dinner I decided to try the Cheese Board. The explanation of the cheeses brought out on the cheese tray was excellently presented and explained with great knowledge of the differing varieties. Our waiter RUDY was very attentive and his service was second to none. Overall an excellent meal in great surroundings, I would highly recommend a visit to the restaurant 1621 in the Softel Santa Clara.

“A must when you go to Cartagena.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012 via mobile

It's the Santa Clara hotel in the historical district. It's a very beautiful location. We chose the fixed menu and the companion wines. It was a wonderful experience.
