We stayed here because a friend recommended it, and I thought I would spread the word. Our stay was three nights on a weekend, and it just happened to be my birthday. This little boutique hotel, similar to many others in Cartagena in that it is an old mansion remodeled, is in the perfect location and is beautifully designed. I'm not sure how to describe it- it's not modern, not classic, kind of zen/Balinese and a bit "Phillipe Starky". Somehow it works nicely. I think it only has 5 guestrooms, and ours occupied the top floor, below the rooftop pool/terrace.
The rooftop terrace is probably the nicest thing this hotel has and since it is such a small hotel, we had the pool to ourselves the whole day and they would serve breakfast (delicious and included in the price) or whatever meal we wanted there. The service, by our waiter Jose, was impeccable. I felt so bad for him going up and down all those stairs, so he definitely earned his tip! The hotel was so thoughtful that they placed a bottle of champagne in my room on my birthday- they must have known from my passport when checking in. Anyway, we enjoyed it by the pool with some fresh squeezed orange juice and drank mimosas all morning.
The bathrooms are amazing and the hotel provides free bikes to tour the city. Overall it was an amazing stay in an extremely beautiful hotel with impeccable service. The only thing I think they could improve on is that during the day I would sometimes hear the employees talking loudly, but that's a small negative during a wonderful stay.
