“Above average hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Was there over the weekend, got some reviews from this site, thought of giving it a go. Great location, the rooms are well decorated and designed. It does remind you alot of the boutique hotels in HK.

The room size is just nice and if you like big bathroom - you will like this one. Bath is massive!

The breakfast on the 8th floor is amazingly fresh with wide selection from Chinese to Western cuisine.

Location - another winner.

The staff service, I must say very helpful.

“Very convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

I have stayed here a few times and always loved its superb location - just next to the shopping area.

The rooms are clean and huge, with a huge bathroom to match. Not much of a view from the room - just saw construction of nearby buildings. The noise however was not so loud as to bother me wheneven I was in the room.

The breakfast is decent, with a variety of Western, Chinese and Japanese dishes, although service could be better. I couldn't catch the attention of any of the waiting staff to get hot water so I just helped myself.

The main downside is the free wi-fi is only available in the public areas (lobby and breakfast area).

“Good hotel great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

We stayed here after a couple weeks in Qinghai and Xinjiang so Chengdu seemed like returning to civilization. Thus, our expectations for service were not high.

The rooms were sufficiently clean and the public areas, while not large, were sufficient. The western breakfast was sufficient and the Chinese breakfast quite good. Service throughout was satisfactory. Most of the staff really tried, even those with insufficient English ability.

The rooms were not large but satisfactory. Everything was clean and reasonably well maintained. The seventh floor opens into a multistory shopping facility. This is convenient but does present unsupervised hotel access. The restaurants there were varied and not too expensive. All the ones we tried were quite good.

We would stay here again when in Chengdu as the location is good. As mentioned in other reviews, many of the taxi drivers do not know the hotel. Expect to get off a block or two away and walk as the roads nearby are under construction and the route difficult to navigate.

“Excellent hotel next to a pedestrian street”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

We loved staying in this hotel for 2 nights in June 2012. The rooms are comfortable, nicely decorated and quite spacious. More importantly, their non smoking rooms do not have residual smell of smoke in them. (A lot of hotels in China just freshen up their rooms and pass them off as non smoking.) Besides the daily supply of 2 X bottle of water, fresh fruits were provided as well. If you have time, remember to try out their foot massage. For 108 Yuan, you get a 90 minute foot massage which includes a free drink, some fruits and a private room with TV. (It is actually a 60 minute foot massage and 30 minute back massage.) Before Chengdu we were hiking in Huangshan (Yellow Mt) so the massage was fantastic. There is also the option of getting another breakfast for approximately 35 Yuan if there are 2 of you. (The hotel caters predominantly to business travellers so only 1 breakfast comes with the room.) Their breakfast has a good variety of Western / Asian food and is very good. The hotel is also next to a Japanese Department store which has a great Japanese restaurant in the top floor restaurant area. I do not remember its name. There are 2 Japanese restaurants there and it is the smaller, more discreet of the 2. The bigger one was always empty when we walked pass. It was so good we ate dinner there 2 nights in a row. We would have loved to stay longer to shop in the pedestrian streets surrounding the hotel but we had limited time. As we had a private guide show us round Chengdu, we are not sure what the hotel referral service is like for taxis and tourist attractions. (In hindsight, we would have liked to have explored Chengdu on our own as our guide wasn't very good.) The staff at reception spoke reasonable English and we had no problems checking in or out. The hotel is also very close to the Changing Faces opera which is a bonus. We will definitely stay there again when visiting Chengdu.

Room Tip: Try out their cheap and fantastic foot massages
