“Very Good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

Stayed here one night having been to Chengdu Panda Sanctuary. Found the hotel very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was good with separate bath and shower and the room was roomy with air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable and on the whole we were very pleased with this hotel. Excellent facilities in the room.

One of the older hotels in the city centre, but very modern in facilities, rooms specious, clean and full of little extras, also the bathroom which has seperate bath and shower. Comfortable bed, free wifi, excellent breakfast, and very friendly and courteous staff. Not cheap but reasonable by the standards of other city centre hotels in China.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2012

We have just returned from a trip to China where we visited several places. This was by far the best accommodation that we stayed in. The room was very spacious and well appointed and the beds were comfortable (most of the other hotels we stayed in had very hard beds). By European standards, the room we had was more like a junior suite. Our only criticism was the breakfast - generally poorly organised seating and the food wasn't being replenished quickly enough. We only had one night here and were rushing off to catch a plane so this made breakfast quite chaotic and you just had to eat what was there. Aside from that, we'd happily stay here again. I should also say it is in a good location to wander around shops.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2012

We stayed here for 3 nights, booked through Agoda, and though it wasn't as good as our previous hotel in Xi'an (Grand Mercure), it came close. The "Deluxe King" room was a good size, with the TV swiveling right around so that you could even watch TV while lying in the bathtub, through a specially built window! The staff were extremely helpful and spoke reasonable English, organising taxis for us wherever we wanted to go, and making sure that the drivers used the meter!

We did not eat in the hotel - we ate one meal at the popular hotpot restaurant across the road, and another in town (Chen Mapo Tofu), both of which were very good. I can also recommend the bakery on the other side of the main road, on the way to Wenshu Temple - their custard tarts are wonderful.

Although the hotel is located at the north end of town, it is easy walking distance to the Wenshu Temple, and there is a metro station a block away to take you to the main shopping areas. The Chengdu metro is very modern and easy to use.

We certainly didn't have any problems with noise or smells as a previous reviewer did, and our room was nicely renovated. Free WIFI was only available in the foyer, unfortunately.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2011

Stayed twice in December, it was fine. Reception desk staff are better English speakers by far. Breakfast was ok, a bit smash and grab, if you timed it wrong. Difficulty booking a massage, price in room was RMB 150, spa man came up with 2 prices the lowest he wanted RMB 189 and if charged to your room 10% service charge added. Lost patience with trying to explain it's advertised in room at one rate and you want more. Didn't have a massage so can't say what I missed out on. Coffee shop in lobby is ludicrously expensive. Staff all very friendly and try to help. Predominately Chinese national tourists. No real complains, just felt we could have stayed somewhere better. But hey ho if I had to stay there again tomorrow I would. 20 min walk into centre of town, which we liked.

I only stayed one night here but would have loved to have stayed longer. The room was lovely with some nice 'Tibetan' touches. The prayer wheel rotated to reveal the TV! Huge bathroom with separate shower with loads of towels, shampoos etc. Helpful reception staff and breakfast perfectly adequate.Very happy to stay here again

This hotel is in a very central location in Chengdu, but there is little noise problems and is a very well designed modern hotel.
Service was impeccable and the hotel was clean, well placed for shopping and rooms were very comfortable indeed.
Highly recommend to anyone travelling to Chengdu capital.
