Worth visiting, although it’s a “mountain with Chinese characteristics”: no nature trails, lots of food stands, lots of people. The temples at the top of the mountain are beautiful. We took a bus from Xinnanmen bus station in Chengdu (1 hour, RMB 21), which took us to the same place where the fast train station is. From there, you can take a public bus to the mountain entrance. To get back to Chengdu, take one of the privately-run buses which leave from the parking lot right outside the mountain entrance (RMB 30). Ours took us back to Chengdu’s Chadianzi bus station, northwest of the city center and right next to a metro station. The third taxi we flagged down agreed to take us to the city center.
