“Location Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

I stayed because of the location. Walk out and you are on the famous Chunxi Road pedestrian walk. Room is average size with acceptable wifi speed. The only drawback is the sewerage smell from the bathroom. Service by the front counter staff was good. When we needed a taxi, they went out of their way to the main road to get one for us. When we called for extra pillows, they were promptly provided within minutes. Will definitely come back when next in Chengdu.

Room Tip: Higher floors, great views.

Stayed for 2 nights from 17 - 19 Oct 2013 at room 1522. Pros: comfort bed, large new led tv, strong shower with good temperature, breakfast was ok, near shopping center
Cons: this hotel are not ready to welcome international tourists, narrow street so we must walk in the rainy night to reach the lobby, small narrow lobby, slow check in check out, staffs can't speak english, slow and week free wifi connection, we can hear noisy street traffic from our room in 15th floor, room heater doesn't work well, public rest rooms smell very bad

First the good, its a decent sized room with modern amenities and clean, etc. For the price, its not a bad deal. WIFI is acceptable speed and reaches even to top floors.

However, I was sick on this trip and stayed in the room most of the time for a couple of days. The cleaning crew came by 3 times and the front desk called me also about 3 times wanting to clean the room. They would not take "no" for answer. Even in Chinese! I've never been harassed to have my room cleaned before. It was very annoying. I even had the "do not disturb" sign on the door and the cleaning staff could not care less and had the gall front desk call me throughout the day.

Secondly, and some people might not care, but there are crews of teenage boys running rampant around the hotel slipping flyers and business cards for what are obviously prostitutes under the door of every room in the hotel. They seem to do this at least 2-3 time a day. One night I even went out to catch them in the act, called front desk and housekeeping. Again, with the language barrier its hard to communicate and I'm not sure they understood. But clearly for something like this to be happening, the front desk staff have to be complicit or involved in some way. There is only one entrance and you have to walk right through a narrow passage in front of the front desk with several people working there seieng everybody who comes and goes, not to mention the video cameras everywhere.

Sorry, but this is unacceptable bad and embarrassing behavior. I've never had a business hotel where prositution was openly being promoted DAILY by underaged minors and the hotel staff could care less.

For some price you can stay somewhere nearby (sheraton, etc.) run by professionals with western standards of service. It seems like at Youke there are no adults supervising!

Booked 2 nights deluxe room form rmb300 but stayed only 1 night due to flight cancelled from Jiuzhaigou. First impression, water closet was stuck after second flush...spoilt the whole stay. Did not bother to complain because checking out next afternoon. Room ok but can't consider large, clean, but it seems to smell a bit, not too sure, anyway brought along an antiseptic spray so sprayed room. Probably affected by outside area which is dim with sensor lights, dirty carpets and seems damp. May be caused by ongoing construction works so may improve later on.
Breakfast was ok, probably being Chinese (overseas), so the variety wasn't too bad. Had porridge, eggs, some vege, chicken sausage(no good) and some buns. My wife and me took coffee and had mild diarrhoea, both of us can't seem to tolerate the milk from here, because the same thing happened with coffee from a fast food outlet.
Hotel entrance is through backlane. From the Zhongfu main road, turn into Chunxi pedestrian walk, then take the first right turn, you will see some construction work, and turn right again, you have arrived.
If in Chendu again, probably won't come back here.
