The Chengdu East Music Park is based on an old TV tube factory! It is now a weirdly wonderful collection of Art Galleries, bars, restaurants and boutique shops. I first went there to help in an Art students' movie - they wanted a foreigner to play the part of a priest in a wedding ceremony. All good fun and was filmed in a mock up Church; there is a big section that has stage settings for amateur movies and wedding photographs.
Also in the Park is an old steam engine, as nearby used to be a locomotive works. The railways first came to Sichuan in 1952. My Chinese guide told me that in the past people couldn't get on and off the trains through the doors as they were so crowded, so people got in and out of windows!
I love the fact that they have used old Industrial pieces such as steel water tanks and coal trucks as pieces of Art. Brilliant place and great for taking a camera.
