I have never written a hotel review so soon after my trip but feel the urge to let people know what they will get themselves into if they decide on this “hotel”.
Before my trip to China, I read good reviews of this hotel and decided to ask a friend to wire the RMB100 deposit that the hotel asked for and booked 2 nights here.
It turned out to be a big disappointment! This is not a hotel. It is just a room within a high rise that is still renovating/building.
The reception of the "hotel" is a small messy room (room 2517) manned by a young men in shorts and slippers who gave us a disgusted look when we knocked his door. We must have disturbed his sleep since our flight was delayed. Apparently using unsold units in unfinished apartment buildings as sleep joints was rather common in China! They may not be properly registered as hotel since the doormen of the building did not allow walk in guest who enquired about room availability. He only allowed in those with a reservation.
We were given a room on the top floor (32nd floor) right at the very end of a very long corridor which was filled with strong cigarette smoke. We were immediately thinking about fire hazards.
The room “looked” new and yes, there was a washing machine. But the sliding toilet door cannot be closed (leaving a 1-foot gap) and the glass panel of the toilet/bath area was poorly patched up with ugly blue plastic material. The toilet did not flush properly. The window frame was full of grease so we were unable to close the window. We did not take a shower, let alone trying out the washing machine. We were lucky that we have a morning flight to catch so we can flee this “top-rated” hotel. We did not return for the 2nd night.
