“Don't stay there!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

This was the worst hostel I have ever been to. I stayed in a 3 bed dorm room. The room was Okay, comfortable bed.

First of all the location is horrible. It is way outside the center of the town so I always had to take a taxi.
Then the staff does not speak english at all. It is absolutely impossible to communicate. They always had to call someone that speaks English and even then they had no idea what I wanted most of the time.
Also this does not seem to be a hostel. There is no community room where you can have a beer and meet new people. That is one reason, the other one is that there are no English speaking guests in this hotel.
Then there's the shared bathroom.. It's absolutely terrifying. It stinks, and there is no real toilet, just a hole in the ground and no real shower - right next to the "toilet".
The only good thing is that you can smoke in your room, but that would only apply to smokers, everyone else would think it's disgusting.
There are many, way better hostels in town like 10 minutes walk away from the train station. I changed to the Kai yue after just one night.

DO NOT GO THERE! No recommendation from me.

1) The staff doesn't speak any English
2) No room cleaning apparently
3) It doesn't look like a Youh hostel, there is no common room, no games or dvd, no computers. It seems to be a hotel and not a hostel.
4) There is no bedside light so we had to turn the light off at the door and try to reach our bed without stumbling.
1) Good location, quiet, at just 15 min of the beach and 45 min of the Qingdao beer museum.

It was the 1st of May week-end (Chinese holidays so other youth hostels were full), 3 days and 2 nights there.
We booked the suite because it was full. We pay 250RMB/night, in total 500RMB with 300 or 400 deposit. Just to know, the other Twin or double rooms were at 180 RMB.

The room was very (too) large with TV, three chairs, a table, an air conditioner / hot air which wasn't working (it was cold in this big room at night). Clean linen, bed softer than the standard Chinese beds. The private bathroom was cold because the window was open and we couldn't close it. The tap of the bathroom moved, apparently they don't fixate it.
Were provided: a slice of soap, towels (which were not changed), and that's all.
Breakfast Chinese porridge for 10RMB/pers turns out to be hot water with 3 grains of rice, with an not cooked egg, small pickles, in short, I really didn't like. Afterthat, we have bought bread from the supermarket.

Here is their website in Chinese only http://www.youthtaylor.com/index_1.asp.
