It's totally preposterous how massive some of these snow sculptures are. Sun Island is this park you pay then walk through and there are all these sculptures made of snow, from the beautiful, or weird, or fragile they were all intresting in the way that you know people spent a huge sum of time to make. The park is rather vast, but you will get a better experience if you walk it, unless you can't, then they provide these little trams at the entrance that will take you through, but who prefers to be on a little stuffed tram if you can walk through a park?
One of the last sculptures we found was exponentially larger than the others, it was as large as..as..I don't know actually what to compare it to, it was massive beyond life size. Very impressive.
There are very few bathrooms and they are all below average squat toilets and spaced far away from each other. There is no food that I saw, but there was a KFC on the map on the other side of the park. We stayed about two hours and saw most/all of the sculptures. There are a few activities at the end like ice biking and dog sled rides and ice slide but they were charging and arm and a leg to see them.
We went in the day, but we were really curious to see them all lit up at night. I think it would be better.
