“It's all here”

For a taste of microbrewed beer, pizza and live music this is it. The restaurant has improved tremendously since Simone started managing. He has a golden touch with his staff. Always a pleasure.

“Best Craft beer "made on site", Best Views and Best Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

The beer is the best beer I have in China. Real American and English style ales, my favorite being the Hoppy Frank IPA. The views are breath taking, 180 degrees of the South China Sea. Several nights a week they have live music and must be one of the best music venues inthe pearl river delta. The staff is great, English and Chinese speaking with great manners. The food is a very nice relief from your typical Chinese food and the menu offers a Chicago style menu with pizza, bugers and steaks with a Mid Western American twist.

“Easy spot for a week end lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

Lunch here on a Saturday, easy to find for taxis, english speaking and some western food plus a glass of wine. Live music a few nights a week and very friendly. Great spot. Beer flights are available if you can't decide what to order.

“Excellent place to chill out and enjoy an evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

We had drinks and dinner at Chicago's on a Wednesday night, and the place was hopping. The live music was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. They make a fantastic pina colada, and the assortment of different types of ale was fantastic.

“Craft beers the main attraction”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

Expecting "western food" in China to taste like western food is as naive as expecting "Chinese food" in the west to taste like Chinese food. With that profound idea off my chest, the Chicago Brewery & bar does a good line of food that is at least familiar to the western taste. Staff speak excellent English and are able to advise on the dishes. Prices are reasonable.
The winning draw, however is the brewed-in house craft beer. It definitely tastes home-made and still has a cloudiness due to the yeast content. If you like hand-crafted beer, this makes a great change for the mass-produced Tsingdao or Asahi normally served in China.
