Arrived to a welcoming and helpful doorman and bell boy - when they saw us touting two suitcases and three large shoulder bags they walked towards us and immediately offered assistance as we had walked three blocks from the Shenzhen Train Station.
Apparently, my assistant had overlooked our last minute request to make a reservation at this hotel prior to leaving the office for the day. The front desk did not give us any hassles just simply gave us a room - some hotels front desk personnel would have offered a lengthy explanation of how they may or may not be able to accommodate -especially on a Friday night check-in.
The room was spotless with fresh sheets, fresh towels and fresh fruit and a clean bathroom with no signs of mildew. The mattress was firm (traditional and standard for hotels in China).
Room service was able to fulfill the unusual request and not on the menu of Chocolate Milk with less than a 10 minute wait.
The breakfast buffet had fresh offerings but dominated by eastern dish options with slim pickings for western although the amount of fresh fruit available made up for the lack of western dishes. The coffee was filtered and fresh with an endless cup - the wait staff had a systematic routine for going through out the room ensuring all guest had a constant full cup of tea or coffee.
Hotel decor is new, seemingly less than a year old.
