“Old,renovation needed but ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2014

We booked online....hoping that with breakfast...it would be a nice one at 378rmb...we were checked into a mould smelling room first...which was transferred to another room on request...the rooms had an aura of long gone by five star hotels...screaming for rennovation...service was prompt...although none of them spoke english except a receptionist...i suppose thats nothing new in china...good location however....

Booked into this hotel by mistake, clicking too fast online.... Do not even think of staying here -- gthere is no reason too. Location wise there are so many more convenient and more inexpensive. The rooms are dirty and smells of mold. And even if you have paid for breakfast not try the restaurants. Its gloomy and filth, cutlery if they existed are filthy.

Only thing that is the bonus are cockroaches, which crawls all over the restaurant and over the food. And the staff thinks you are mad when you complaiin.

For your own safety stay away from this hotel

Room Tip: Stay away from this hotel even if it is free!

Worst hotel ever stayed at in 2 trips to China. The room was old - smelt of mildew, carpet was frayed, upholstery on chair torn, bathroom and shower not clean. The breakfasts were awful - no western food at all; not even milk or any fruit. If this were a domestic Chinese hotel the breakfasts might be fine, but this is supposed to cater for international travellers and the restaurant was filthy anyway. No BBC or other news channels available. Staff could only speak Chinese. There were no maps available.

I too, was propositioned by "ladies" who stand outside in the hotel entry - not a good look for a hotel.

The bed, though was comfortable and the location close to the metro. Some terrific little local eateries close by.

Real shame as other hotels in China have been extraordinary. Would definitely NEVER stay there again.

I stayed in the hotel for 3 days and 2 nights from 12 - 14 March 2013.

The one thing I liked about the hotel is the great location, near the Guomao metro station and near the city where you can buy lots of cheap merchandise. Rooms were nice, although there were signs of wear especially in the bathrooms. Free Wi-Fi (call the operator for the password) and cable internet was good. TV had mostly chinese channels so I didn't bother watching much of it.

However, the free breakfast isn't for everybody. If you're not an adventurous foreigner or someone who enjoys real chinese food, the free breakfast is a waste. Food choices were very limited and only weird chinese food that I'm not used to was served. Don't expect eggs and bacon, but chicken feet and other sort of food the people in China love. There are, however, nearby eateries where you can go to clear your morning hunger.

Overall, for a short stay, this hotel would be a good choice given the reasonable prices. I, however, probably wouldn't stay here again if given a choice, but that's just me.

I stayed at this Hotel for 3 nights 18~20th April 2013, since there were no rooms available in my regular stay Huawiang Plaza Hotel due to a Medical Fair. It is very close in fact as soon as you come out of the Exit of Hubei Station. The price was RMB580 incl. breakfast. I was given a room which was in the old wing, and had quite worn out fittings but I insisted to move out if I was not given a room in the new wing the for the balance 2 days. Having got into the newer room on a higher floor it was a much better experience, the bathroom was quite good, the TV had no English channels, and the breakfast was very poor for westerners. In fact the food service and banquet room where it was served had old carpets and was quote un-hygenic. Won't stay here again, even though it was in the Luohu area and had good shopping and night life very close by. The swimming pool was in a mess un-operational and was a very poor sight from my room. The spa in the Hotel was quite ok.

Room Tip: Go for the higher floors, and new rooms, bargain for a better price. And don't opt for the break...

Checked in for 1 night for about RMB 450 a night inclusive of breakfast.

Dont believe their claims on Trip Advisor about wifi. Its only available in lobby and not in rooms. Cable internet is available in rooms but its unreliable.

Room is largish and need s a bit of a refurb. Bed clean and comfy. No English channels on TV.

Location good and many restaurants close by.

Bit disconcerting to be propositioned by a "lady of the night" in hotel lobby at about 9pm in full view of the reception. Guess she either worked in the spa in the hotel or the club on 2nd floor.

Breakfast was Ok with a mix of chinese and western food.

The hotel was fine , location near metro station , 7 eleven gate inside hotel lobby , size of room is great , excellent value of money , free breakfast , free internet cable that's great
BUT the breakfast is not suitable for foreigners , the service was poor , accordingly this hotel is suitable only for the Chinese and not recommended for foreigners
