I was pleasantly surprised by the Nan Hai. I had originally only planned to stay 1 night, because it was so convenient to the ferry to Macau, but ended up staying 4 nights.
It is a little pricey at 688RMB for a seaview room on a higher room, but it was the Lunar New Year.
The room was very nice. Grounds were pleasant. I did not try the restaurants. The staff were all very accomodating.
The views weren't much to boast about, but Shekou is an industrial port.
It is just a short walk to the Seaworld Plaza.
There is a row of mini-bars on the street leading to the hotel, across from the Haotai Hotel, with girls trying to drag passersby into to clip them for overpriced drinks. But that sort of thing is everywhere in Asia, so no big deal.
All in all, I would recommend the Nan Hai to a traveller who wants to stay at a nice place, there are plenty of less expensive places in town, but I enjoyed my stay.
