“Good rooms - no food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

stayed here for a week..while the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the service is typical China. no help unless you should for some thing.

Rooms have kettles but no tea/ cream...all they stock is green team and jasmine tea. Language is a problem and the place has a scent of its own ( Good or bad) is your take...the breakfast spread is completely Chinese.......so either you jump into the KFC next door or just fast till its lunch and grab a bite at where ever you are.....
Location is good....lots of shops and restaurants in the vicinity, an ATM next door etc...all in all an OK place to jump in and jump out... would not recommend this place for families...Television had just China Channels playing..so was no good for me.

Room Tip: Higher the Better...some of the rooms have plumbing issues

I stayed in Paradise hotel over a span of 8 months for business with Huawei. I can safely say that this is one of the best (if not The best) options for people coming for this purpose. The hotel is located within walking distance from most of Huawei's premises. Around the hotel you can find some places to eat (mostly Chinese).

The hotel itself is below average. I stayed in different room types... they are old and the furnishing isn't the best. Sometimes you will even find things broken, not working or completely not clean in the room, so you need to get it fixed or change your room till you find one that's acceptable. One of the things that was really annoying is that some of the rooms will not have reasonable storage space for your luggage. You get cable Internet in your room which most of the time is slow or down and for WiFi you need to go down to the lobby.
The staff are friendly and they try to help, but language is always a problem.

I gave this hotel a rating of "4" as I found really good and convenient for my long stay in Huawei. The hotel is far from city center (minimum 30 min. taxi) and it's pointless to stay in otherwise.

Room Tip: Try to avoid smoking floors as the smell is really horrible.

There is not much choice in the Bantian area, and this is the best hotel nearby, but in western terms it deserves no more than 2 stars. CNN is the only English language channel, staff hardly speak English (which makes solving the many problems time consuming), rooms are really damp and mouldy - peeling wallpaper, wet carpets, one room I stayed in had mushrooms growing out of the wall - poor or absent AC, Internet very slow and some days missing completely, obtrusive Muzak in the public spaces, room safes are not fastened to anything so completely useless, rickety room furniture. There is no gym or pool, despite the signs. It's like a Chinese Fawlty Towers, I am afraid.

If you are staying here, bring plenty of DVDs to watch, go out and buy coat hangers before you unpack (they don't seem to provide them), bring an ethernet cable (the ones they provide are worn), eat out (try Pizza Hut or friends cafe), check the room for damp before accepting it, and invest in one of the more expensive rooms if you can. If the internet is out, you can get free fast wifi at friends cafe.

On the plus points, the rooms have a kettle and tea bags, the beds are comfortable, and they do provide a travel adapter.

Like other reviewers mentioned, this hotel is one of the better hotels in the Bantian area. The room rate is fairly reasonable and the room is good size. The room is equipped with TV, room safe, internet and a tea kettle. The room looks clean but is dated. There is mold in the shower.

There is a very good Chinese restaurant in the same building and a good variety of restaurants across the street. There are also grocery store and dry cleaner near by. There are many bus routes that will take you to Shenzhen downtown. We used a shuttle bus service with pickup at the hotel to the Hong Kong airport. It was very convenient.

The Paradise is by far the best hotel in the immediate area and really the only choice for folks working with Huawei - the only reason to be in this area. Yes, English is barely spoken, there is no CNN and the breakfast is strictly greasy stir fry, but you should see the other hotels in the area; I have, and I was glad for the Paradise. The location is especially convenient with a multitude of restaurants across the street. Even so, the hotel rooms are strangely incomplete with no iron, clock radio or hooks to hang towels amongst the missing items. Alternatively, may travelers stay in Futian district (downtown Shenzhen) and take a taxi in (30min) each morning. In fact, Huawei busses foreign students attending their training center to/from Futian each day.

Room Tip: The rooms facing KFC on Ban Xue Gang Da Dao are noisy (e.g. 8017 and 8018). Try to get a room with a...

As a veteran of traveling on business in the more obscure areas of China (this is not Downtown Shenzhen), this hotel is comfortable for the price you pay. I stayed for 2 nights at the Paradise due to the meetings I had with factories in the local area. I booked a Deluxe Executive Room (at about RMB 480 per night) and had a large corner room (about 30 square metre) on 15th floor. It was clean, comfortable, adequate and FREE fast internet. A suggestion is make sure you book a room on the side that does not face the main road as this will reduce noise.
This hotel is owned by the large Corporate IT company called Hasee (which has its offices across the street) and so you will find most of the guests are from Hasee or nearby Huawei.
They actaully have a very reasonable priced good Chinese restaurant here for lunch/dinner. However, breakfast for the Westerner leaves alot to the imagination (typical Chinese breakfast) and you have to search for the western bread section....its hidden behind one of the walls.
I have stayed in far worse hotels in China at double the price of this one........so lets be fair to them, they try hard to please and rooms seem to be comfortable at the price.......and there is not many other options in this area!

Room Tip: Book a room not facing the main road. Make sure you check the A/C unit works properly before you ac...

This hotel is only a few years but my room looked like it was at least 10 years since last renovation.

Narrow corridors to be considered as a hazard in case of a fire, exit ways not marked out correctly.

Wall paper hanging loose, mold in the shower cabin, Air Condition could not be set to a comfortable temperature, TV channels only in Chinese – I later learnt that it was only in my room the others actually had 5 English channels.

Size of the room was ok, Internet speed fair – No Wi-Fi only LAN cable – tea maker in the room with choices of green or black tea bags but no coffee.

Breakfast was so so, Coffee was Nescafe made with equal portions of water and Nescafe, with a lot of milk added I could get it down, Orange Juice watered down but fair taste.

Overall and compared to the alternatives in this area, its fair. Compared to a western standard, way below fair.
If you want to have the inconvenience of a 30 min taxi drive each direction, i would recommend some of the hotels in Futian or Sekou. Far better standards to a slightly higher price.
