We all love Chinese food, to a point. I have spent several years traveling to Xiamen 3-4 times per year. When I first stumbled on this place, is was on our way to yet another Chinese restaurant. The place greets you with good old Americana, loud sometimes annoying music, great food aromas and all of the locals, Aussies, Europeans and Americans drinking heavily. The "house" band is from the Philippines and the female singer is a hottie that doesn't mind having a drink with the customers. Ask to sit in with the band, Carlos the lead singer is a cool little dude! The owner Josh is almost always there, keeping things in line. Believe you / me, if you need a break from the usual Chinese food out, this is the place to go when in Xiamen. Sits out on the waterfront with an unbelievable view. Forget all the naysayers that say it is expensive, if this restaurant was situated on a tropical coast somewhere in the USA, it would be packed every night and even more expensive. EVERYTHING is expensive in China these days, might as well get some good ribs while you are there! The gumbo is real good too!
