“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

This hotels facility is comparable to a Hilton or JW Marriott. Location is straight on the water. Rooms are large and comfortable with very nice bathrooms. Nice workout room and spa. Indoor pool has one of the best views when you are inside the pool I have ever seen. Included breakfast is fine, but not something to remember. English is spoken by some but not by most staff including restaurant and spa and pool. The hotel free wifi made me long for dial up in either of our two rooms. Works fine in lobby where many guest hang out to use it. Apple products do not work on the wifi in the rooms, but fine in the lobby. Hotel knows of this problem. Rooms where very warm even with the heat off. Took hours to cool it down with the small window and it was only 50f outside and not sunny out. Much better to get a water view room. Not just for the view but for the quite as the other rooms face the Main Street where trucks buses and even some middle of the night drag racing goes on. Even with the windows closed you can hear it 6 floors up. Would not be a problem facing the water.

Room Tip: Face the ocean is much quieter. Do not get a room that faces the Main Street.

We enjoyed one night at this lone highrise hotel property - part of a small chain- on the shoreline overlooking the Pacific at Punta Arenas. We had an oversize room that was quite comfortable, the casino in the lobby was not noisy, was smoke-free(!), and the Sky Bar at the top of the hotel has good views of the town and the water, but very poor service (actually self service is a better term for it). The desk staff was efficient, a good night's stay. Nothing to do in the town. A good transit overnight on the way to Torres del Paine national park.

My aunt and I went to Punta Arenas in early July 2012, full winter in Chile. Once we get there, we forgot outside was snowing and with 2-3°C
Our room was neat and simple, but spacious, the detail we loved the most was chair close to the window, where we could sit and read. The beds are amazingly cozy and room service is very good, too. The bathroom was big and with good ilumination, always tempered.
My favourite was the breakfast in front of Estrecho de Magallanes. I loved the variety of fruits and the omelettes, the waiters were all friendly and offered a nice treatment to us.
Finally, I get to use the swimming pool in the night and it was fine, not so crowded so you can swim easily from side to side without crashing onto another people.
If I come back to Punta Arenas, I wouldn't doubt to make reservations in this hotel, again.

The bad thing about this place is they didn't care about the visual impact of the building in the city of Punta Arenas. There are practically no tall buildings in the city and this one is located right in the shore front.

I booked a room at this hotel through Hotels.com back in February. Then on February 15th I cancelled the reservation. This was way before the 24 hour cancellation policy that the hotel has being that the room was reserved for April 21. On April 23rd a charge showed up on my credit card for this hotel. I tried working with Hotels.com to get the charges reversed but they were unable to get a hold of the hotel. I also tried contacting the hotel but the number that I was given by Hotels.com only was someone's personal phone (I believe) and they didn't speak any English. I tried looking on the website for additional contact information but have been unable to get through or find any way of contacting someone from this hotel. So at this point the only option I am left with is to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Modern glass edifice with spacious rooms and nice view of Straits of Magellan. The large bathroom was impressive--separate tub and shower with rainforest shower-head as well as other spouts if you want all over body spray. The front desk was friendly and helpful by giving us good restaurant suggestions and telling us how to exchange money in the casino. The big negative was the noise from some disco that went on most of the night. If you stay at the hotel which is probably the best in Punta Arenas, ask whether being on a lower floor will muffle the disco noise. This was my only reason for the 3 instead of 4* rating.

Stayed here for one night before heading out on our Tierra Del Fuego cruise. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The waiter in the Sky Lounge gave us a great recommendation for dinner. Our room was clean and of a modern design, like a W hotel. The breakfast was included in our rate and it was very good with many selections to choose from, including made to order omlets. The hotel is located just a few books from the main square of the town and a few hundred yards from the pier where we met our cruise ship.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the harbor/ Straits of Magellean
