“Couldn't be better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Just a short note to express our gratitude to all the Remota's personnel.
Without them wouldn't be the same. We stayed four marvelous days in this spectacular hotel in the bottom of the world.
From the moment that we arrived until we left the hotel everything was a great experience...
We took all the activities available at that time and everything was amazing... really I have no words to express how wonderful our experience was.
The Chef and the dining people were superb... we still remember the "centolla" cakes... delightful... exquisite..
Every room was a picture, the swimming pool, the fire places, the jacuzzi under the stars...
You want us to says something to this trip: spectacular !!!

Yes, the bathroom could has some improvements to have more privacy in the room... is too integrated to it !

Room Tip: It's better to visit this area at the end of the winter, there is no wind and usually no rain or...

It's marvelous that your stay in Remota was perfect, as you said. We are so happy that you enjoyed all the important places in the hotel: the pool, the jacuzzi, the quiet rooms, the charming fireplaces and, of course, our delightful food. Our chef, Rene, is motive of pride for Remota's crew.
Don't forget that we will be expecting for you. Just need to come back.

We were with a group of 20 (mostly couples) traveling from Buenos Aires south along the glaciers of Argentina, down to Torres del Paine, and then north to Santiago. Our stay at Remota, a lodge just outside Torres del Paine National Park, was the highlight of the trip. Everything was included -- drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and 3 meals a day. There were multiple daytime activities to choose from, including horseback riding, visits to local historic caves, exploring the area in vans, and day hikes. We opted for two 6-12 km. hikes, led by Claudia and her team of guides. She was very knowledgeable about both the wildlife and the geology, and gave you the feeling you were the best group she could spend the day with! Plus she laid on two very nice picnics, complete with table cloths, in the middle of the Park. One was next to a cascade with multiple levels, and another overlooked a beautiful lake, 3000 feet below. At one point, four very large condors happened to soar by the cliff where we stood, not 15 feet away! The lodge itself had unusual "green" architecture, with grass growing on the roof, and huge glass windows overlooking the Bay of Last Hope and the mountains. Rooms were quiet, beds were comfortable, the 'rain shower' in the bathroom was fun, and the windows could be opened (always a plus). The chef gets top marks for his delicious soups, attractively served main courses, and yummy desserts. Everyone --from the bartenders and waiters, to the front desk staff, was attentive and friendly.

Well, obviously we feel proud that your stay at Remota was the highlight of your gorgeous trip. It's true that our guided tour offer is large, but as you, many guests like to choose between hikes, horseback riding and excursions to the ancient caves.
Also your beutiful words to our guides and the rest of the crew are a reason to be proud of. We promote a service of excellence and you notice it.
Hope your friends had the same impression you have. If you can, please encourage them to review Remota.
Thanks for all the praises...

We stayed here for 4 days/3 nights after the same time period at the Tierra Patagonia, another all-exclusive place on the other side of the mountains. The seven-year old Remota sits on the edge of some of the most beautiful places on earth and certainly is top notch (as many other reviewers note). But if you have a choice between the two resorts, the edge goes to Tierra Patagonia.

On the plus side, the Remota is close to town but not in it. Puerto Natales isn't a tourist town and there's not much too it (still a working town, not a tourist hub). But it's better than total isolation in the park if you want to retain touch with civilization while being in an all-exclusive resort. The Remota architecture is funky and cool. The top-level staff there (Marisa at the Front Desk, Claudia, who leads the excursions, and the head waiter) are at the top of their game. You won't find nicer, more helpful, more insightful people anywhere in Chile. There is an excellent variety of daily excursions to the surrounding beauty. We spent an afternoon horseriding in the mountains with a gaucho, seeing the glaciers on a boat, and hiking in the nearby mountains.

On the minus side, the funky architecture has a downside. The bathrooms in the room have a clear glass window. So you get to see (and hear) just about everything that goes on in there while in your room. I was traveling with a friend, and it was, well, awkward. The meals aren't at the same level we found at other top-notch resorts in Chile. We didn't find out until the second night that there were other options besides the top nightly specials -- lamb and a seafood casserole and salad are always available but you needed to be Sherlock Holmes to discover that. Their wines (all included) also could use an upgrade -- pretty limited selection. We also had a morning with no electricity and cold showers because of construction on the road into town; certainly not their fault but there was no information provided to guests unless you asked.

Don't get me wrong -- I'd stay here again. But there are lots of small areas that could use improvement here to truly make it a five-star resort that it should be.

Room Tip: If you want to use the pool area, ask for a room near the end, otherwise it's quite a haul back...

I'm not the "post a comment guy", but this time I found myself commit to do one because of the excellent week we enjoy togheter with my family.
First of all the architecture and design of this place is outstanding... but the environment surrounding makes this a 6 star experience.
My kids, wife and I enjoyed the service, the great food and all the different "panoramas" we had.
Don't forget to ask for the "cordero al palo" a unique barbecue experience native from patagonia.
...that's all Remota crew, thanks for this memories I will keep for ever !
See you soon or "chaito"

Room Tip: Ask for those who got the mountains view

Nice words for a "non comment guy", as you said. Well, thanks for visiting Remota and double thanks for enjoying our "panoramas" and our crew, two main supports of the Remota's experience.
We feel grateful for all your comments, specially about the food, a main course of the stay in Remota.
"Chaito" and hope we can share a "cordero al palo" in the future.
All the best.

An amazing lodge and overall experience! With very unique architecture and layout, this lodge oozes comfort, adventure and fun! Remota is basically an all-inclusive property; food was plentiful and good, the employees were genuinely friendly. There are so many day tour excursions. We went on 2 full-day hikes; guides were knowledgeable and prepared lovely lunches for us picnic-style with all the trimmings (including pisco sours!). The manager, Marisa, is to be commended for her professionalism, friendliness and warmth. We highly recommend a stay at Remota!

My wife and I sadly just left Remota after one of the best 5 days of our life!

It is difficult to explain in anything less than a thesis how amazing the whole experience was but a few words.

ALL staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and with a smile on their face. Language was not a problem.

The cuisine was definitely 5 star and considering the limited kitchen staff that prepare a rich and lavish breakfast buffet, 3 course lunch, 4 course dinner )all with numerous choices) and a packed lunch for each and every trip that includes nuts, dried fruit, a soothing soup, caesar salad (shaken not stirred...) and a phenomenal sandwich with homemade biscuits plus tea-cafe to end it all! Oh, and the freshly daily baked bread with the best pisco sour by Miguel!

The trips were a unique experience and having the same guide and driver for the whole time defiitely made us feel at home and like we were out on trips with old childhood friends! The possibility of visiting the Torres del Paine as well as having exclusivity to the local mountains and forests, means Remota is quite tough to matched. The French valley was jaw dropping, condor walk was mesmerizing and horse riding to the "edge of the "world" with a genuine gaucho and "mate" was very authentic.

We liked the rooms with ample local wood and although simple in some ways also definitely unique. The only slight point would be the sound insulation needs a bit of work as one can hear "most" noises from above ,-)

However, overall perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!

A special thanks to the "3 musketeers" without whom this dream holiday would not have been realised: Carlos Sainz (Athos), Javier (Porthos) and Gustavo (Aramis).

My wife and I have promised to ourselves to come back when we have some kids. According to Carlos he expects to see 7 of them... so I better get cracking!

Room Tip: maybe go for 1st floor if possible

Your words just represent what we want to inculcate in Remota. The mixture of adventura and luxury is our speciality. Thanks for enjoying hotel's staff, if every guest feels like you, means you have lived the Remota's experience at it's best.
That's why you promised to come back with your kids. We will be expecting for you!!

Our trip to this hotel did not have auspicious beginnings with a mix-up over our booking, but a sign of a good hotel is how they act to problems, and the staff at Remota rose to the challenge making us at once feel very welcome and being very attentive.

The staff at Remota are one of the hotels best assets. They go out of their way to treat you as an individual/couple and not just a room number. They are always attentive andtry to anticipate your needs - an example being the pool attendant who rushes out to uncover the hot tubs and serve you 'champagne' whatever the conditions.

The main reason for going to this area of the world are the excursions. Remota basically let you choose your itinery from a menu of suggestions. We did a full day tour of Torres del Paine with one other person and then two half day tours and a full day hike in which we were the only guests (although probably helped by the fact they were not full). The tours were always well organised with a great tour guide.

Food was excellent too, both in the restaurant and on hikes (the Caesar salad as a picnic item was something which needs to be seen to be believed. As an example of their service, the guide (without our prior knowledge) also carried a bottle of red wine with him (we felt a bit guilty when we did not drink any - but not our normal drink of choice on a hike).

If there is an criticism it is the rooms are a bit spartan, although there is plenty of public area to use instead.

In addition, it is outside the park. This allows for other trips (for instance we did a great half day horse trekking with no experience at all) and a better overview of the area. However, if you just want to hit the main hiking trails in the park it is perhaps not the best bet.
