We came across The singing lam for a friend in punta arenas. Once we called Susan "the owner" made the reservation and explain everything about how to get there. She receve us with hot te and a big smile. The rooms are spacius and the have 3 diferent bathrooms very clean and everything new. The kitchen it's nice and we made are dinner there. The next day we tried the best home made bread ever made by Susan. We spend part of the day in the hostel organaising the W trek in Torres del Paine and she made all the reservations for us in the buses and refugios!!
Next day we left to torres del Paine
we hoppe we can come back. Now we are in buenos aires and tomorrow in Spain.
I would recomend this place to everyone!!

This little backpackers' hotel has just opened and is wonderfully clean and neat; only complaint was that there are only two dormitories, with ten beds each--one for men, one for women. No problem for me, as very few guests at that time. Puerto Natales is a nice town, for tourists, and it is very easy to get by bus to the national park, Torres del Paine--spectacular--well worth traveling any distance to see! Service is friendly and hospitable and delicious, freshly-baked bread for breakfast. Nice kitchen for guest use and native garden space for tents. Lots of restaurants nearby, but many expensive as everything is transported long distances to get there.

I found The Singing Lamb through a friend in Punta Arenas and clearly it was the best backpacker hostel of my ten days trip to Chilean Patagonia. The hostel is completely new (it started to receive guests in March 2010), and its extremely functional infrastructure (two big rooms, two well-equipped bathrooms, an american style kitchen), cleanliness and excellent service (I had the best impression of its manager, who speaks fluent english and spanish) will definitively take this place to the top places in tripadvisor and other backpackers guides to the zone. The price is quite reasonable (10000 chilean pesos) and it included a very complete breakfast (try the home-made bread and jams). The location, though not in the main square of Natales, is very close to the main restaurants, buses agencies, supermarkets, etc; and in the night the lack of noise let you sleep quite easily. A great complementary experience to Natales beautiful landscapes and its marvellous towers.
