“Superlative experience for 3 nights in this dreamy town of Puerto Natales!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2011

The first thing that strikes you when you approach Temauken, ferried from the Puerto Natales airport by their Friendly owner , is the casual Orange color and the huge Tailorbird's nest kind of Hanging Lamps all over. This is kinda the symbol of the hotel. So now you have arrived and are ushered into their Lobby and the next thing you are hit by is the sheer elegance and expanse of the lobby, plush carpets and Sofas, overlooking the Colorful town, the Blue mountains and even the Ultima Esperanza in the distance. You enjoy the same view from the Rooms too which are spacious, comfortable and chic.

Breakfast is ordinary but the Dinner was really unique and tasty - I so enjoyed the Fish he had made with some Legumes and the Desserts galore.

They can help you with your tours as well though we had our bookings in advance. They did send us off on a Horse Riding trip at Laguna Sofia which was a most memorable experience for all of us. They have limited no. of rooms so book well in advance and though this is a bit outside downtown, they'll call you a cab. So no worries whatsoever eh :)..

Room Tip: All the rooms have good views!

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. On arriving at the bus terminal, one of the owners picked us up an took us back to the hotel, which is situated in a residential area a few minutes drive from town. The hotel is on the edge of a hill and has beautiful views from all levels. Check in was fine and the owners provided advice on booking local tours.
Because we were not so close to other restaurants we used the one at the hotel and found the food to be excellent (the chef had won a local award). We dined here on a couple more evenings rather than walk or taxi into town. Breakfast was also good with fresh juices, cereals, breads, ham and cheese.
Our room was bright with a huge window to make the best of the view, which was wonderful. The room was a little small, with only a small closet and no hanging space. However, it was nicely decorated with natural wood surfaces. It was quiet at night except for the occasional loud motorcycle.
The owner helped us booking a local day tours and these worked out fine. We did not overnight in Torres del Paine, but we would do this if we ever visit again. Day tours had bi-lingual guides (Spanish and English).
Overall very enjoyable and we recommend Hotel Temauken.

The hotel is new, and is a nice combination of modern and cozy. We particularly liked the effect of the warm golden wood of the room framing the spectacular cool blue view of the town and water below. The dinners were delicious --the chef just won a prize of some sort; the trophy is in the dining room. The location was chosen more for the view than for any central location --you could walk to the other restaurants but it would be easier in a car. The staff were very helpful, including before we got there, very patient with a number of room change requests, and they organized a car and driver to pick one of our party up at the Punta Arenas airport. Beds are comfortable with duvets. We stayed here two nights en route to Torres del Paine, and would do it again.

Brand new hotel with a lodge feel, open only one month when we arrived. Stayed in a family room for 4 had plenty of space. Hotel tastefully decorated in natural and local materials. Hosts Jose and Caroline were delightful and made us very welcome, encouraging us to use the place as a home from home and to enjoy the views and relaxing atmosphere from the luxurious lounge area. All rooms appeared to have panoramic views of the mountains.
Jose and Caroline were able to offer suggestions on trips and activities in the area and used to be guides in the Torres Del Paine national park so had plenty of advice to offer.
Cant recommend this place higly enough.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Temauken for three nights on each end of a trip to Torres del Paine. The property has a commanding view of the sound from all rooms (as well as from the spacious main room of the lodge), is meticulously clean, and is staffed by two of the friendliest folks we met during our trip. Jose and Carolla go out of their way to provide information, to set up tours, and to take care of the little things that can make or break your trip. We had a minor issue with our rental car in Punta Arenas and they gladly stepped up and called the company for us. Their English is excellent, their knowledge of the area superb, and their attention to their guests needs is outstanding. Jose has guided in the park and knows it well, and both he and Carolla are climbers and accomplished outdoors people...so they are able to talk in great detail about trails and conditions and other issues of interest to outdoor travelers.
