I stayed here for work in August 2012 on arrival in Cameroon. This hotel is nowhere near IBIS standards internationally and is poor in most aspects. It feels like a time capsule to the 1980's when it was built/decorated. Free condoms in the Bathrooms are a 'lovely' touch and add to the 'ambiance' of the place. This 'Hotel' clearly gets significant business from the 'adult entertainment' industry, so be warned.
I couldn't wait to leave this 'fleapit' of a hotel and was very glad when I was able to do so.
The only thing going for it is that it is quite well located, being next to the best private Hosptal in Douala in case you get food poisoning, and a short distance away (still take a taxi!!!) is the 'Boj' bar/restaurant which is actually very good.
Having said all the above, it is still one of the best Hotels in Douala.....sad but true
