“Great Location and Fantasic value for money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2011

We flound this place by chance, we were staying next door and it just wasn't nice so decided to look around. We didn't have to look far!! The room was great top floor, 2 windows and the best thing only $8 a night! And not even a 5 min walk into town.
Big balcony to sit out on with a nice fresh breeze in the evening exactly what you need after seeing temples all day!
The owner Mark (english guy so language problem) was relly heplful as well, we oragised our tuk tuk to bring us around the temples for a day so there was no arguing over price. A really relaxing and easy going place with a bar and pool table downstairs!

Room Tip: Top floor is good if ya don't mind the stairs.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Downtown. The room was very spatious and clean at a good price and the owner very helpful. It had more facilities than we imagined for a small buget guest house. The location is great too, away from the noisy crowd but still very easy to reach.
Highly recommended!

The best part about this hostel is Mark. He personally ensures that your stay is enjoyable. He makes the travel experience fun and gives great advice. The food is great and he can help you organize your Angkor Wat plans. The hostel is already great but will continue to improve over the next couple of years with the work that Mark will put into creating the perfect hostel. If you are any kind of budget and want a sociable place to stay, it would be stupid to stay anywhere but here while in Siem Reap.

Downtown Siem Reap Hotel is by far one of the greatest guest houses I have ever stayed. I have traveled all over the world and stayed in "every blue light blue hotel" and never have I felt more at home than I have here with Mark, the owner, and his employees. Mark is very sociable, hangs out with his guests, and makes everybody feel like part of the family. The guest house is very secure, clean, and honest. In all honesty, I would suggest this guest house over all others in Siem Reap.

I originally booked one night for my arrival in Siem Reap and ended up staying for six. The owner Mark was extremely flexible and allowed me to stay for as long as I wanted to without the need to pay upfront for my room. All I needed to do was let them know the day before I wanted to leave. I found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful and even assisted one of my friends (who was not staying there) with her onward travel.

The hotel is well located, within easy walking distance of the Old Market area and Pub Street. The rooms are comfortable, clean and competitively priced.

They are in the process of setting up a chilled out bar/restaurant in the front courtyard. Although they only have a skeleton operation in place at present, the food from the Khmer menu was really tasty.

stayed in april for 1 week, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff and the English owner were very friendly and helpful. The location was great, just a 5 minute waljk to the town.
They had the added bonus of a new bar and would reccomend staying here ,just to meet the barman, was a very interesting, funny and amiable guy called Danny, with some of the best travel stories and experiences you will here anywhere in asia.

Great location, near enough but not too near. Friendly doesn't come close, just a great place to stop and chill with the other guests, as well as those that come to hang in the outdoor bar wishing they stayed there as well.
