I was doing volunteer work with the schools and this hostel gave me the best deal on a private room that was cleaned EVERY day. The staff was great and there was always something to do or someone to hang out with. The only bad part was not getting wireless in the rooms, however I am told they are working on it and there is free wifi everywhere else (along with 2 communal computers). I loved this place.

Room Tip: Let them know if your doing volunteer work.

At the start of April The Siem Reap Hostel installed new routers and we now have free wi-fi access in all rooms and areas of the hostel. The network is fibre optic, with a router on every floor and 2mbps download speeds.

I have been to many hostels in my time, some were great but nothing compared to the siem reap hostel. they have everything! free internet, bar, pool, restaurant, bike hire, ultimate movie collection, pool table, massages and even FREE salsa dance classes! the staff are all amazingly friendly and are willing to help you with anytihng and think outside the box if needed! i would stay here above any hotel, hostel or motel in the world, no matter the price, and its lucky that the prices are very reasonable. i would recommend this to anyone travelling through, back packing, vacation, to people of all ages!

We were picked up at the bus station (pick-up included in the room rate) by one of the recommended tuktuk drivers of the hostel. This was one of the reasons I picked the hotel aside from the pool. We also hired the same driver to take us to the temples the next day. The pool was cute, the restaurant was casual and the facilities were great. There was a pool table, sofas, beds at the balcony and other services i didn't get to try - yoga, tv/dvd room and hammocks. The location was quiet but still near the market which is still walking distance. Just take care when walking at night since the road is not that well-lit.

We stayed in the dorm room and everything was clean and organized. You pay $0.5 to borrow a towel but the linens are included in the room rate. There's a locker under the bunk bed so better bring a padlock for safe-keeping. At that time, no towels were available which was the only disappointing thing. But the other services such as the recommended tuktuk drivers and published rates are a great plus! The lonely planet books, public computers, wifi and great food were lovely additions. Breakfast for $2 (for dormers but free for private rooms) was also very nice - small pancakes, instant coffee, fruits, cereals and bread.

I had a terrific time at The Siem Reap Hostel. Stayed in a 6 bed female dorm. Very comfortable bed (although they have the tallest bunk beds I have ever seen!). The room had aircon and fan, the aircon could have done with a bit of re-tuning as the room was slightly too hot to be comfortable, but apart from that was fine.

The staff at the hostel are very helpful and friendly. There is free internet usage and a variety of sightseeing tours which the Hostel arranges at competitive prices. The buffet-style breakfast is good too - lots of fruit, pancakes, cereal, toast, tea, coffee, juice, etc. This is included if you are in a private room, but $2 if you are staying in a dorm....but you get to eat as much as you like :-)

The hostel is a good place to meet people, so really good if you are travelling alone. I highly recommend it.

On arrival at the hostel you are welcomed by fantastic staff...who continued to be great (without exception) throughout my stay, both reception and bar staff alike.

Additionally the hostel recommends TukTuk drivers, who are reliable, friendly, knowledgable and priced fairly.

The dorm was a fair size with great storage - for even the largest of luggage! The bathroom area could do with a little improvement - but it was adequate.

Wifi is available at the hostel, there are a few hot spots and internet is also provided.

The bar area is relaxed, prices good and the food hits the mark. Breakfast is $2 (or similar), buffet style and very nice.

The location of the hostel is just a short walk from the main town - therefore the area itself is fairly quiet and you are not disturbed by constant street noise. However, if you want to throw yourself into the mix, you are practically on the door.

Enjoy!

This is a great place to stay. Located really close to the main town without being too close to the craziness of pub street. Rooms are regularly cleaned. Staff are very friendly and always wanted to help out with anything from trips to any questions you may have about siem reap, angkok wat or traveling around Cambodia. Great bar and restaurant to meet people - excellent for solo travelers or groups. Offers single rooms or dorms. Both really spacious and have lockers so security is good. And has a great swimming pool/TV rooms and chill out areas. Definitely would recommend staying here and will definitely be coming back next time i am in siem reap.

I have travelled and been to many hostels throughout the world and found ‘The Siem Reap Hostel’ a truly good place to stay. The dorm rooms were clean, good bathroom - great showers. Food was good, and great real coffee.
The place was relaxed, and staff friendly and helpful, it’s close to everything, and there were always plenty of things to do. What I really like about this place was everything in the one hostel, you can sit at the bar and join the fun friendly atmosphere, go for a swim, hang out at the pool table with mates, new & old, or just sit on the balcony with a good Bloody Mary (as the staff know how to actually make them) watching the sun go down. This place gives you privacy with a nice peaceful atmosphere.
