“A "Feels Like Home" Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

Two friends and I were in Siam Reap last week for 2 days 1 night. The Hotel isn't in a main road, but near to the big road. I think, everyone who ever stayed there felt like home. Nice hotel staffs, a warm vestibule like a family room, completed with few dining tables which we can enjoy drinking tea, coffee or chocolate for free, and three units of computer with internet connection.
No elevator to get higher level of the hotel, but the stairs isn't a big trouble, it's lovely, when you get there you will absolutely feel homey. Entering the hotel lobby we put off our shoes/sandals, everybody is bare feet.

When we stayed there, we couldn't have our breafast in the hotel because we started our journey to explore siem reap in early morning, but we could asked the hotel's staf to prepare our breakfast in the 'take away packs'.

The swimming pool is open from 7 am to 7 am,. But when we wanted to swim at 11 pm, the staff nicely permitted us and turned on the light in the swimming pool area.

I recommend you to stay there. Don't forget to book first before you come. My friends and I became friends with the nice (almost all) staffs of the hotel. Friendly price and friendly people around.

We loved the place- homey environment, clean surroundings- house rule of taking off your shoes or slippers before you set foot inside worked well, nice wood furnishings matched our taste of a home, very warm staffs - and they adjusted accordingly to our request of reducing the tour rates because our couple friend did not arrive but we enjoyed the same package as well, thanks to Mr Pagna who promptly replied and fulfilled all our email arrangements and the other staffs who gave us this awesome hotel/ home experience. This place was recommended by my niece and true enough, t'was worth it.

Stayed 2 nights at hotel. Staff very welcoming & helpful.

Lovely pool, clean room, good value.

Did not spend much time in hotel but was a pleasure coming back after a full day of sightseeing.

Breakfast was included in price & tea/coffee available all day in lobby (make yourself)

Got laundry done for $1.5/kg returned 24hours later.

Massage available in hotel, (in your room) from $6/hr

I would recommend this hotel

We were welcomed by the hotel's friendly tuk-tuk drivers(free pick up service) immediately when we left the airport. When we arrived the guesthouse, we were then served by the staff a cup of welcome drink and a towel, what a warm welcome. While we were waiting for the room to be ready, the staff offer us to have free breakfast which made us really surprise about this, because we thought the free breakfast is only available on the next morning. Although the guesthouse location is a little bit far from the pub street but they offer free tuk-tuk service so you don't have to worry about this.

There is also a mini pool beside the lobby area, if you feel like want to have a swim, remember to bring along your swimming suit.

We have just spent 7 nights at this wonderful guest house. The rooms are spotless, well furnished and fairly big, room 201.The staff are absolutely superb, so kind, happy and couldn,t do enough for you. Everytime you came back from outside or even just down the stairs they greeted you and had a chat.Mr Wan the manager should be very proud of his team every one is a credit to him.

We ate in the restaurant some days and the food was very good and about the same price as the town. The menu had quite a big choice. The breakfasts that were included in the room price were excellent.About 7 maim choices which all included main, cambodian porridge dish, a fruit platter toast and jam.

Although this inn is out of town tut tuts are provided free of charge but you usually end up paying 2/3$ to get back. We did walk as we enjoy walking and it did take about 30 minutes, but it is a bit dark later. We went to greenstar gecko restaurant one night recommended by Mr Siv and the food was superb. It is written onthe back of his tut tut. This is a non profit restaurant which puts its money into feeding and educating street kids. It was sad but lovely to hear their stories but wonderful to see how well they have done. Their english is excellent and we met the owner who runs the place who told us what they were managing to achieve.

The hotel has a lovely swimming pool in avery restful and pleasannt area. The gardens are lovely.
The only problem we had was with the first tut tut driver that the hotel provided. Although he did
his job he was totally not interested and asked us after we had visited our first temple Ankor Wat if we wanted to go back. We obviously said no.
He told us the bare minimum and did not smile or speak to us at all. I need to mention his name as their are a few drivers and I do not want to cast any doubts on the others. His name is an animal that roars and has a mane.
We spoke to Mr Wan who was very apologetic and as we had seen another driver on trip advisor we decided to change to him. Mr Wan is an extremely kind, professio al manager and he was helpful.

We then were introduced to Mr Siv. Mr Siv came to the hotel to discuss what wewanted to see.
Mr Siv was totally wonderful. He is a polite, respectful family man who went out of his way to ensure we had a good time.
He is very smiley and pleasant and gives 150% to his customers.

Mr Siv asked us what we wanted to do and then arranged our tours around our wishes. Before we went into any temples Mr Siv gave us avery good explanation of what temple we were visiting, when it was built and with what. The statues and carvings we should see and also the general way we should walk. Although Mr Siv is not a guide, we felt that we had enough information from him to help our visit.

Mr Siv exceeded allour expectations and we were very grateful as he helped our stay at the golen mango to be excellent. We will return one dayto see you all.
Thank you Mr Wan and your staff.
Chris and John Manchester UK.

This little bundle of tranquility, nestled down a nondescript side road is surely one of the highlights of any Cambodian experience. High praise for the Golden Mango Inn ... Most of which is reserved for the genuinely loveable staff, who would be able to get that 'grumpy cat' to flash it's pearly whites.

Details that would appear to nock the place down a peg are cleverly navigated by the thoughtful owners who - unlike many places in the region - put the comfort of their guests at the top of their agenda. ie. the location isn't very central but free 'into-town tuk tuk services' alleviate some of the hassle.

One morning a pre-arranged driver failed to show for a 5am sunrise tour of Angkor Wat - staff, concerned by our frustration, organised an replacement. He arrived - still with sleep in his eyes - within 10 minutes and accepted the discounted rate agreed with the previous no-show driver.

Positives: staff staff staff. The rooms are well maintained (if a little lacklustre) and very big. Swimming pool is cute and the feature adds character. Atmosphere is relaxed. Free rides into town. Tours / guides from here are reliable and good value. Decent wifi.

Negatives: little far from town. Breakfast (and food generally) isn't top-notch, but still acceptable. Construction work was being carried out next door so was some noise - but nothing overpowering. Not the cheapest option and not a choice for people looking to socialise within the hotel.

All in all, what are you waiting for?

Awesome, yummy breakfast. Nice fresh smoothies. The staff was amazing. We told them we were going to sunrise at Angkor Wat. They made us breakfast and had it ready for us at 4:45am! You can't beat that. Always someone around to help you out. Free tuk tuk rides into town and only $2 tuk tuk back. Loved the pool area and the garden. Would totally stay here again! They could probably update the rooms, but it didn't bug me.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor. Was nice and quiet.
