“Must stay in Siem Reap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I came here last year. I was not using trip adviser then but now that I'm using this website increasingly more, I must write about this hotel because even to this day I still think of how lovely it was.
We booked this hotel by chance and thought it was the best hidden gem in siem reap. We stayed on the ground floor in their suites and the layout and facilities were amazing. I love the tub in the room plus the outdoor shower in the charming garden outside. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Always a smile on their face at all times.
Their breakfast was made to order and their breadbasket is delicious. My husband and I still talk about those breadbaskets as that was the only time we had 3 pastries a day!

I highly recommend this place and would love to go back.

The Heritage Suites is a delightful boutique hotel with the best food in Siem Reap as a bonus. We took a quick getaway there and enjoyed the dining, the pool and the spa. The suite (bungalow suite) was big and comfortable, maybe a little bit dated. The staff are gracious and friendly, happy to have a chat but not intrusive. It is also very well run and the hotel GM checked in on us informally through our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory. The location is just a short tuktuk ride away from the centre of town which we thought was a positive! We were also picked up from the airport in a classic old MB that was previously used by the King!

Room Tip: Bungalow Suite was good

After staying in top quality hotels in Hanoi and Saigon, we found this hotel to be very friendly, unpretentious and relaxing. Cocktails and food were excellent as was our spacious cottage room. At the pool one can hear the distant sounds of happy school children and Buddhist monks, both of which added to and did not detract from our enjoyment. Very courteous staff. We would return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room like "Ylang Ylang" where we stayed.

A friendly and well run establishment which provides a sanctuary from the dust and noise of Siem Reap. Located a little way out of the centre, but only 5 minutes in a Tuk Tuk. This hotel is not on one of the main drags, nor is it located in the French Quarter. There is a school immediately opposite the main gate of the hotel but the area around is generally pretty quiet with little road noise noticeable once inside. Pool is clean and refreshing. Bungalow rooms are spacious and well decorated. The restaurant is good; expensive in comparison with establishments in and around the old market, but far less than some of the top end joints in the 5 star hotels. The chef is very accomodating and eager to show of his skills by deviating from the menu when asked. Cocktails in the bar area were fun and served in a relaxed atmosphere. The Kmher Margarita packs a punch. Would definately return.

A very laidback and well-run hotel. There aren't any extravagant frills with this hotel - it has an appealing simplicity both in terms of decor and service which generate a very relaxed feel, and a welcome place to put your feet up after a hot and tiring day visiting the sites. The food in the restaurant is good (albeit a little pricey compared to some of the smarter restaurants in town). The staff are terrific and Magnus and Baptiste, the European managers, make for genial hosts. Recommended.

A great place to stay to visit the Angkor temples. The room is a large self-contained lodge with all mod cons and an original design. The managers are European but unpretentious and the Cambodian staff are all quite delightful: their natural personalities shine through without any of the awful obsequiousness that seems to be obligatory for Raffles hotel staff. The menus are a Cambodian version of Asian fusion with some particularly delicious starters. Thursday is jazz night with a local band (to our surprise, all westerners) and seems to attract all the expats. No TV in the room but if you ask, one will apparently be supplied. The one possible drawback is that location is away from the main streets so transportation, e.g. tuk-tuk, is needed if you want to hit the bright lights. But overall: Recommended!

We didn't want to stay in one of the corporate box hotels that line the main street into Siem Reap, and we found a wonderful alternative in the Heritage Suites, down a funky lane through an ordinary area of Siem Reap, instead of the glitzy outer area of town. Turning past a run down monastery, we wondered where we would end up, then turned into a beautiful gardened parking area and were ushered into a real treasure! Smallish, but so beautiful inside, with a staff that immediately won our hearts. Beautiful room, terrific breakfast in a beautiful dining room/lounge with a terrific poolside area a few yards down the path. The manager Magnus, a transplanted Swede, takes terrific care of his guests, the front desk arranges tuk-tuks to where ever you decide to go, US$2, for dinner or whatever, at night ask for the guy who also works the front desk during the day, and does nighttime duty as a tuk-tuk driver, I didn't write his name down, but a caring guy, worth supporting!). We had a terrific experience here, the room was exceptional, highly recommended! [also, a terrific area for wandering around the normal scenes of Siem Reap in complete safety, the monastery is worth a photo wander; a wonderful new restaurant several hundred yards away (Marum) that is a training site for young restaurant workers; all in all, the best choice we could have made] Some other restaurant recommendations: The Nest; The Sugar Palm.

Room Tip: We had the Frangipani room (suite), which was on the first floor beyond the pool. Don't know abo...
