We stayed here in January 2012, the photos are very deceptive as we didnt realise there were 2 seperate sections and you had cross a busy road to get to the dining and pool area. Not to worry as the hotel staff were so obliging it was amazing. The bed was like a board after a comment to the staff a brand new bed was carried up the stairs and delivered and changed immediately. We were stoked. The location of the hotel is great, walking distance to pub street, the riverside and gardens and of course the night markets. Otherwise just hail a tuk tuk and off you go. I love Cambodia the country has had such a tough time it was beautiful to see such genuine care and interest from the locals.

Room Tip: The section not facing the road as people are always up super early in Asia

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were very comfortable. The pool was fabulous: a welcome relief after a humid day looking at temples. Staff were very helpful. The location was perfect as it is right near markets and restaurants, yet still quiet at night. Thoroughly recommended for families.

Room Tip: We had rooms overlooking the pool, which were great. Suggest requesting these if travelling with ki...

My friend tell me hotel looking old now but it is in French colonial design so I guess it is looking just as it should.
Very clean, nice staff, good food and excellent location for the town, old market and, in my opinion best Restraunt in town, Viva. Some 50 yards away.
Stayed here several times and have visited the town more times than I can mention.
My only regret is we never stayed longer this time. Nice new market over the river, the night market has grown, pub street gets better and better. Oh, and the temples.
I shall probably return next year and Steung Siemreap shall be my destination whilst in this beautiful town.

Room Tip: Room 212 my favourite but there are two parts to this hotel as on both sides of the street. 212 ove...

this hotel was indeed the best located hotel if you want to explore all the sites and sounds of siem reap - even the local tuk tuk drivers and locals agreed it was the best. Perhaps others are similar in price and have larger rooms but they are almost all outwith the main hub of the town itself. we found the staff were wonderful, everyone smiles in cambodia anyhow as they are the friendliest people we have come across, but the hotel staff were especially cheerful and keen to practice their english with you. their helpfulness was genuine and they would recommend restaurants or sites outwith your guide books. the rooms were immaculate and cleaned everyday - do not bother loading your suitcase with toiletries if you'd rather make room for more clothes or souvenirs as the hotel staff daily replace shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, mini toothbrushes with toothpaste, razors and shaving gel, cotton buds, towels etc - you also have a really good hairdryer in the lovely bathroom and complimentary robes and slippers! the local supermarket is immediately behind the hotel and stocks all western items you could need so buy local and use the complimentaries I say in future! breakfast was lovely - again, cheerful, clean and huge range of crispy bacon and mini sausages, cereals, fruit juices, tea, coffee, toast, croisants, porridge and other things to suit different pallets, including rice, noodles, vegetables, cold ham, salad items etc. I would recommend you visit the buddhist temple behind the hotel - all monks and locals who live inside are genuinely warm and welcome you - very calm and serene place, beautifully maintained by the monks and is very authentic to cambodia - we found a fabulous tuk tuk driver there, called Rae - a young man who was very polite and, although his tuk tuk was not the fanciest he was a kind, warm, intelligent man who desperately wanted to work hard to make a better life for his family. we ended up meeting his wife and 2 adorable children and became firm friends over our 2 weeks holiday - he only wanted about 10 usd per day to take you all over - the temples, places the tourists didn't have in their guide books, temples under construction, festivals in local villages, river tours etc - invaluable and a decent human being. he was so grateful at the things we gave him when leaving, a dictionary, some clothes etc - if you see him tell him the couple from Scotland send their love and hope he is using his dictionary - he will know who you mean! at night the nearby "pub street" (should be called restaurant street) is fabulous and we chose the Red Piano most nights as the food was delicious - all so cheap too. Local sitges vary throughout the day and evenings but we felt very safe and never suffered upset stomachs or worse! yes, lots of insect bites so take your plug ins for the room and sprays but its not a problem - enjoy your holiday - we loved the people and this hotel was the best for us to explore all. the temples are best visited in morning as the heat is pretty intense in the afternoon, plus lots more bus tours then so it is busy. we say use the tuk tuk drivers (Rae if you get him) as they are a fraction of taxi costs and provide a lovely breeze when it's hot. Find Rae and he'll be at your beck and call every day, all day, wherever you want to go. He's always in the temple near the hotel in the mornings. bargain well in the shops as everything can come to half the original price or less. take lots of small notes for the children who regularly come to get you to buy trinkets at the temples - one dollar gets you two or three things as souvenirs. hope this is helpful if you've not been before - enjoy, we loved the culture!! shop around for the price at this hotel - we used easy click travel and saved over 80usd on the other prices for the same superior double room - 420 usd for 2 weeks bed and breakfast if this helps your comparison - real bargain! the balcony has double glazed and wooden shutters so the noise is kept out and air conditioning brilliant!! tv in the room also has about 89 channels, with lots of english speaking movie ones etc - not what you come to cambodia for, I know, but if you're relaxing for an hour or so in the afternoon when the sun is hottest then it's good for news and entertainment to chill with......

Room Tip: ask for a first floor and overlooking the pool if you want silence, or overlooking the street if you...

I stayed here for 3 nights for my short visit to Siem Reap. The hotel is very nice. It has the perfect location for exploring the main areas of Siem Reap. Close to lots of food and shopping options.

The staff was exceptional. Very friendly and helpful. They were always quick and courteous. The breakfast buffet was the best i had on my entire 20 day trip thru various parts of southeast asia (and the best bacon i've had in a looooong time; mmmmm, bacon).

I stayed for 3 nights as a family of four in a triple deluxe room in the begining of August 2012. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom with the fitting were fine however the one complain I have is with the water force in the hand shower - it can SERIOUSLY injure some one. Even after bringing it to the front office notice - they just shrugged, smiled, mumbled something and did nothing about it. The other point to note is that WIFI in the room is almost non existent. It works sporadically.

The location of this hotel is excellent within two minutes walk to the pub street, night market and also shopping street. Despite the proximity to crowded places, the hotel itself is very quiet and peaceful. Everyone, tuk tuk to taxi driver, knows this hotel so one does not have to worry about finding this place.

The swimming pool is very nice, well maintained and was well used by us after a long hot day of sight seeing. The break fast is decent for the price charged (they have a live egg station). Overall the staff is friendly and helpful. Airport pickup was included in our room rate and we paid US$10 for a van to drop us back to the airport.

Overall a great hotel and would have given a higher rating except for the handshower complaint.

Room Tip: We selected a pool facing room. It also had a small balcony overlooking a monastery which gave an o...
