Lovely hotel, Superb breakfast, wonderful pool and the friendliest of staff. Being outside the town is no disadvantage as hotel has shuttle bus and tuk-tuks are cheap and part of the holiday experience.

I stayed there with my mom in Y2010 for 4 nights, and it is a really pleasant experience. We went to Siem Reap with a tourist group, and all the information we got for the conditions of hotel in Siem Reap really scared us, so we were so surprised to see such a decent hotel: large, clean and well-decorated room, bathroom with all the amenities, lovely and inexpensive restaurant, breakfast with a great variety of choice and fruit in a very comfortable area. The pool is also bigger than others in some nearby same level hotels. The staff helped us to book a very good and gentle tuk-tuk driver.
The only disadvantage would be the location, out of the city, and there was a lot of construction work along the road where the hotel is located when I was there. But it is in Siem Reap, a tuk-tuk is easy to find and does not cost much.

I had the misfortune to stay at this tired, scruffy hotel at the end of an otherwise fantastic holiday in Vietnam and Cambodia.
The public areas, with dark brown wood reminded me of Communist Eastern Europe in the1980's. The lifts were very scruffy, corridors upstairs have no air conditioning and the tatty, worn red carpets smell most unpleasant.
My bedroom was ok but others of our party had very poor facilities. In room tv was well over10 yrsold.
Breakfasts were awful! On our final day they ran out of orange juice (which any way was not freehand had a funny taste)! The Europeanselectionon the hot buffet was mashed potato and something,a belled as grilled chicken feast which turned out to be small sausages, it took 30 mins together green teal!
Room service food was misrepresented on its menus, apple pie with ice cream turned out to be lemon curd pie, tropical fresh fruit platter turned out to be: 2 slices of dragon fruit,1 banana, 2 slices of apple and 2 segments of, very dry, tinned grapefruit!

Room Tip: Don't go there!

Having travelled extensively through South East Asia and experienced all levels of hotel accommodation, have to say The Royal Angkor Resort Hotel is one of the best for service, friendliness and efficiency. The staff and their hotel's resident manager, Mr Juliao Leitao, were attentive and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Mr Leitao tries to meet ALL guests on arrival and makes a point of meeting up over breakfast or snack/dinner or drinks during your stay to make sure everything is going smoothly. And he's there to wave goodbye when you leave! The staff are well trained and their level of English is outstanding!

Thanks to our great travel consultant, Lenny from Expat Holidays Thailand – http://www.expatholidaysthailand.com – we were upgraded to a deluxe room with a balcony overlooking the expansive pool & garden area, and out to Angkor in the distance. The room was well equipped (toiletries, robes, slippers, tea/coffee making, mini-bar etc) and everything was clean and maintained. Restaurant meals were of high standard & well priced (both western & Cambodian options) and the two-hour "happy hour" (in the bar and by the pool) made for a lovely relaxing start to the evening after a hot and hectic day of sightseeing. We didn't have time to use the spa facilities, but reports from other guests indicate the treatments were well worth the effort. Free in-room wi-fi and access to computers in the business centre add to the high standard provided by this hotel.

Overall we couldn't fault the RAR or the staff. Even after we questioned something on our check-out bill (which turned out to be correct as per hotel calculation), the reception staff were not fazed, instead they presented us with a Khmer scarf as a "thank you/farewell gift" from the hotel.

There may be other hotels in Siem Reap with a higher * rating, but you won't find better service or value for money, for sure! Great work Mr Laitao and staff – a credit to RAR and to Cambodia!

My friend and I spent 4 nights here. I have to say this is one of the best hotel I ever stay. Big size room, nice atmosphere, perfect service and people. Breakfast also was good with many choices. All staffs were so helpful and friendly. Thank you for making our trip a great one. Surely recommend this hotel to our friends.

it was a wonderful experience . the hotel was beautiful and the staff were very courteous and were always there to help us .
the rooms were very clean and comfortable . the breakfast buffet was sumptuous . they always provided me with vegetarian food and took care of my food requirements

I would strongly recommend it for Indian families who are vegetarians since the chef was very accomadative and took care of my needs.

It was close to the airport and close to the city in a tuk tuk

the evenings were very quiet and peaceful

the manager was very courteous and would meet us at every meal which was a wonderful experience and they allowed us to keep our room for a few hours after check out time

will strongly recommend the resort for the wonderful experience

Room Tip: close to the airport , quiet and tranquil , luxurious pool and spa and great facilities
