“Right Royal Resort!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2012

The staff greet you with smiles and a welcome chilled drink. The staff are attentive and very helpful as we found out booking a dawn tour of Angkor Wat even providing a breakfast box to enjoy at our leisure. The hotel is a delight after the hectic pace of tourist Siem Reap!!! Escaping to the peaceful calm of this hotel after battling through the Old Market was heaven. We had booked a standard room and to our delight had been upgraded to a deluxe. The room facilities were excellent especially the spa bath, heaven for aching bodies and feet. And OMG the buffet breakfast would tempt any food critic. Best of all is the free shuttle bus available by the hotel to trips into town. I can't wait for my next visit later this year.

We stayed in the Royal Angkor for several days and enjoyed each minute of it. The staff treated us very well and was always attentive and responsive. The front desk personnel especially so; the manager was concerned that everything was going well for us (and the other guests). The breakfast menu was varied and the breakfast area, was always comfortable and pleasant. The lobby, pool and pool deck, and rooms are maintained in immaculate condition. The lobby features live, classical Cambodian music. We did not view the interiors of the several cottages; they are set around the pool yet retain their privacy, surrounded by trees and plants. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to town with a pick up service every 2 hours until 8PM. and twice the manager rode to town with us to get our feedback and had suggestions for sights. A tuk-tuk back to the hotel is about $2, if you stayed late. We spent three full days at Angkor sites using a tuk-tuk attached to the hotel which, for a reasonable fee, would take us to Angkor in the AM, pick up for lunch at a pre-arranged time, and do the same in the afternoon. And the same for those sites outside of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. This was very important to us and everyone performed admirably.

Room Tip: we chose the top floor...road traffic/noise is not an issue...location is not in town but did not at...

We chose this location based on recommendations from two friends and were quite pleased. It is a quick 10 minutes from the airport, and about 5 minutes by tuk-tuk from the night market and hustle and bustle of nightlife. It is in a quiet area of other resorts making it perfect to escape back to during the middle of the day, which since we went during the hottest part of the year was essential! The resort is about 10 minutes from Angkor Wat proper, and then varying distances to the smaller surrounding temples. They greet you in the afternoons with cold, fresh hand towels which was greatly welcome. The pool is gorgeous and huge and there are even elephant statue showers to rinse off in! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was substantial with a wide assortment. We all had different spa treatments that were lovely and the facials used Dermatologica products which was fabulous. The staff was quick to grab us cabs, tours, guides or tuk tuks without pushing for any particular service. The few small issues we had were dealt with promptly and they made sure to check back afterwards to see if we felt they were resolved to our satisfaction. We would absolutely stay here again!

Room Tip: We were in a 4th floor unit which was quieter, but the wifi connection was a bit worse. Pool facing...

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Angkor Resort as part of a package tour. The property is very nice, with quiet pool, refreshing lobby and very attentive staff. We had a problem with our shower head, and the service people answered very promptly to check and repair. Service at the front desk was also very friendly. Not the closest location, but cheap enough ride to town.
A few issues: The breakfast buffet had both outdoor and indoor seating, but the french doors were kept open. Thus any effect of air conditioning was diminished and the number of flies landing on your table, etc. were the same as seating outside. The breakfast itself was not special. Spa services were offered at very reasonable costs, and a free neck massage coupon included. My wife went for a body massage, but reported a not very satisfactory result - citing either inexperience or mis-understanding of what services she desired. However she went back for the complimentary neck massage and enjoyed it (10minutes). The "typical" Khmer music in the the lobby was very nice, except on one occasion, recognized the tune as "Jingle Bells". This was in March 2012. In general the hotel is fine, but with many hotels in Siem Reap would try another in future.

Just back from a trip that included a three-night stay here and would definitely recommend it. The staff are very well trained and extremely helpful. Hotel facilities are terrific, especially the huge pool, and the location is good unless you want to be able to stroll around the old market without taking a tuk tuk. We would certainly plan to stay here again if we return to Siem Reap.

Room Tip: We had a "Deluxe" room with a private balcony overlooking the pool. Well worth the small a...
