Hotel is starting to show its age a little, rooms were ok, pool was good, a little away from main bar/restaurant area $2-3 in a tuk tuk. Breakfast was very good with good selection. Local market only 5 mins walk away.

Nice room, had a pool which was a bonus in the heat. Convenient due to other services – do washing at a reasonable cost, water is available for purchase in the foyer, as are stamps (and they will then deliver the letter to the post office), wi fi available. Location was a downside – had to catch tuk tuk to main area. Good choice of breakfast foods.

Clean and comfortable rooms with air conditioning. A lovely swimming pool to cool off in and sit beside. Helpful and friendly staff were always available for advice and to book tickets etc. it was good to have a bath after a week with just a shower!

Our recent week long conference with participants from all over SE Asia was held at the Freedom. All of the group had nothing but praise for the way the staff helped us, the conference facility, meals and cleanliness of the rooms. This is amazing for a group of over 50, with no complaints! We had a variety of rooms which were all good. The pool, one of the best in Siem Reap, is a clean, salt water, large pool. Restaurant food is reasonably priced and large portions. We would not hesitate to stay here again, or to recommend it to others. Great value for money!

I've stayed at much better hotels in Siem Reap for a comparable price. Unfortunately, those hotels were already booked this time around. The Freedom Hotel is a cavernous old building with carpeted halls that smell of mold. It is located on the outskirts of the city, about a 30 minute walk to town. Our room was acceptable, although a bit old-fashioned and lacking in wifi. We also found a cockroach running in scared circles next to the stained bathtub. Not very inviting!

We found the service completely lacking. While most hotels (and even $8/a night hostels) help customers book tours and tickets, the employees at the front desk were reluctant to help us book a horse ride. They finally told us they could call the ranch at a rate of 50 cents a minute. Most hotels provide this service for free. The staff at the front desk also could not tell us where to rent bicycles, only that it was 'very far away.'

As for the positives: the pool was nice and refreshing. The hotel was in a very quiet location; we slept well. The breakfast was adequate. The coffee was strong and delicious.

Overall, though, I'd recommend looking elsewhere in Siem Reap for a more pleasant stay.

This hotel seemed very old fashioned, we had a wine coloured bath and basin! Our room was a good size and the bedding, although worn, was clean. There was little storage and no coathhangers in the wardrobe. We had to leave our cases on the floor. We seemed to be in an annex and it was a bit warren like to find our room, having said that it was very quiet and the bed was very confortable. There was a fridge, kettle and free water. There was wi-fi in the reception area but it was better out by the pool. The pancakes at breakfast were great!
