Complimentary buffet breakfast , free internet usage, and locality made this great value. The welcoming smiles and greetings from all the staff, the great selection and quality of food at the breakfast buffet, a young man playing a tradtional instrument outside the dining room - all contributed to a great send-off to our daily explorations of Siem Reap.
Great location - a large supermarket is across the street and other shops in the immediate area, and the markets are just a short stroll from the front gates.
We hired Mr Khen, a tuk tuk driver the first morning. He was so pleasant and helpful that we ended up using his services for the entire 5 days. Tuk tuks are great for giving an uninterrupted or distorted view of the countryside (except when the transparent vinyl is rolled down during rain), and visits to main tourist sites can be reached before or after the bus loads get there. Mr Khen offered to get a guide to go with us to the temples, but we actually preferred just reading about them and enjoying their beauty and incredible construction, without the constant chatter of minute details. We laughed a lot with Mr Khen and he found some great restaurants, and a cultural dance show, for us. The young dance troupe he took us to see was not in the guide books, but was the most enjoyable dance performace we've ever seen in all our travels. We'd highly recommend him for a joyful stay - He parks between the hotel and the Central Market - his tuk tuk has his name on the side with a picture of a porpoise. I'm sure he would have negotiated for a lesser price than we paid (the full first asking price of $US15 per day, and we added tips, even though there is no pressure to tip), but, hey, it's less than the taxi fare from almost any airport in the world, and far more personal, relaxed and informative about the life and culture of the area. Have a heart... he's trying to support a wife and 3 month old baby. Would you joyfully drive a motorcyle around all day, wait patienly while tourists see sites and eat meals for $15?

I found Prince D'Aangkor Hotel on trip advisor and was extremely happy with my stay. The price was low but the quality of hotel was easily 4 star with excellent service. The hotel is quiet yet only a ten minute walk or two minute tuk-tuk ride out of the centre of Siem Reep and only a few kilometres to the main attraction of Angkor Wot.
Breakfast was good but the rest of the food average but a new chef is now sorting that out by adding more Kamer food to the menu. The spa was also excellent and justifies its $20 a massage pricing. Overall one of the best value for money hotels I have ever stayed in!

We stayed at Prince D'Angkor for 3 nights (April 16.17.18 2009) and we were very happy with the service. Staff were excellent.

Though perhaps the barman needs a bit more training in the serving of basic drink mixes!

Hotel was very clean and comfortable and would stay there again.

We stayed for 2nights at Prince D'Angkor in Siem Reap, in the old French quarter, easy walk to the main shopping area, markets and bars/restaurants. We were one block behind the Foreign Correspondents Club, (FCC)

A very nice hotel, It was very very hot so the pool was a great relief. Service was good and breakfast was huge. Obviously not in budget range but good value.

Please note that in Canbodia all currency transactions are in US dollars, the ATM's dispense US dollars only. Change is given in riels- we gave our small amount away. Plenty of choice for eating/drinking.

We had a smooth and pleasant stay at The Prince D'Angkor. The hotel is spacious and clean, everything looked new. The best part about this is that it was very very good value. It was quite a bit less than all the other 4-4.5 star hotels in Siem Reap, and since we were somewhat budget conscious on that trip it was an ideal choice. Really had no complaint about the hotel itself or the service, everything went as it should. The location was convenient enough (well SR is not very big, you can walk everywhere). They even have a salt water pool, and service was efficient.

The only reason I didn't give Prince D'Angkor the full score is mainly due to the fact that it does have a very typical boring hotel look and feel to it, despite being a new hotel. It just lacked character and some kind of wow factor, and you feel like you have seen something similar to this many times before, especially in South East Asia. If you have a bigger budget and are looking for something with more character and elegance, definitely check out Hotel De La Paix (which we loved and went to hang out there for drinks and food almost everyday) or the FCC which looked lovely just walking past it.

But of course, if you are being more prudent with your spending, Prince D'Angkor is a good choice and there is nothing wrong with it. It's a solid 4 star place that is comfortable and clean with all the basic amenities. On account of a great value, just be happy that it does exactly what it says on the tin.
