“START HERE (if you aren't beginning at sunrise)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Holy Cow, great photo ops! Everywhere you turn, there is a face. We probably spent longer there than we should, but you really can stop and stare at a wall for an hour with carvings and faces and bas-reliefs. There is so much to look at! Our tuk-tuk drivers dropped us off here after entering the South Gate, which kickstarts your excitement into full blast! I recommend starting here, as shade can be provided inside if you need to get relief from the sun. But I recommend you start somewhere else if you would like to start at sunrise. Go to Angkor Wat with the 500+ people who are also wanting a good sunrise picture!

“Go early”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014 via mobile

Our excellent guide took us to this complex first as it gets overcrowded, it's well worth the early start, everywhere you look there are faces looking at you , great insight to the culture of these people , if you are lucky your guide will know the right place for the photo where you can pose & it looks as if you are nose to nose with one of the faces. Take water & look where you walk as places can be uneven. All of the temple complexes are a must see. It is worth while getting a knowledgable guide they know where to go when to go & of course lots of history of the area, as they have lived through the conflict they have some very interesting family stories

“My favorite”

It was a blue cloud day and I spent it with some rays of sunshine and faces of Bayon. Stunning. My favorite temple in Siem Reap.

“Well preserved and beautiful.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Like most of the temples around, this one was particularly impressive. We went in the start of the rainy season. Be careful, some stones are slippery!

“Don't miss this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

The Bayon is a well-known and richly decorated Khmer temple at Angkor in Cambodia. Its most distinctive feature is the multitude of serene and massive stone faces.
You can also spot Cambodians dressed as Apsaras over here.
Look for the spots where you can take the tourist-y nose bump pictures :-P
