We stayed 4 nights in this superbly located hotel. It is near the center, along the the river, far away from the horrible hotel road where all the new big resorts are opening. Overall, the hotel is charming, and the staff are always welcoming you with a smile. The rooms are large and relatively comfortable. The most notable part is the restaurant, Very nicely decorated and excellent Khmer food. Surprisingly good wine selection for cheaper than back home!!

The bad: Hard to get a good night sleep. On two nights it seemed they were slaughtering dogs around the corner (Chinese or Korean restaurants??). The howling was attrocious! On another night, there was a wedding in a building next door. The music was playing at 150db at least, but was done around midnight. Finally, the hotel is working together with the transportation/guide mafia! You WILL pay a premium if you get a driver through them. We used street hired tuck-tucks for the Angkor complex at $10/day, and hired a car on 1 day to see the furthest ones. Skip the floating villages. It's a $20 government sponsored scam!!

I should mentions that someone tried our door knob around midnight once... Maybe a confused guest. What did surprise me was that there was no additional lock on the inside of the room. So anyone with a room key would be able to enter anytime.

Enjoy the great temples of Angkor while it lasts!

The hotel is well located, you can go to the center (market) by walk. The decoration is very nice. The pool is not so big but lovely. The only negative thing is that the walls of our bedrrom were were quiet humid. There was a strange smell and we found 2 cockroaches in our bathroom. Positive : net against mosquito on the bed.

Lovely place. We had a room with a private terrace very close to the pool. The room was clean and well appointed without being too clinical.

The pool was nice and cool, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for more.

Even if you don't stay here, you must eat at the restaurant. Choose the fresh spring rolls as an appetizer (guide books say that fresh or raw produce should not be eaten, but the hygiene standards were so good I felt safe to do so).

We spent 4 nights 5 days in Siem Reap and stayed at this boutique hotel. The location was great in terms of walking distance to the city center - just across the river and 5 minutes away. However, the hotel could have used some refurbishment. And there were a LOT of bugs - in fact, one night, there were so many crickets that management had to replace everyone's drinks - because they critters were sloshing around in them!

Pros
+ Great setup and layout of the boutique resort
+ Every room feels unique
+ Mosquito netting comes in handy for mosquitoes and other nasty bugs in middle of the night
+ Camobian breakfast spread is quite nice and a departure from the normal western breakfast (which is also available as another option)
+ the breakfast tea is simply amazing (they add a special touch of hibiscus)
+ Pool was clean and refreshing: seemed to be open 24-7 though no one used at night
+ Location is great and close to the city centers
+ Costs for massages while more than local norms, is still pretty decent (maybe 2-3x the cost of getting a massage in the city center - no hanky panky)

Cons
- Water leaks in when it rains: I definitely was happy to be off the ground floor (water can even get into door cracks on upper floors)
- Bathrooms while functional, leave a LOT to be desired
- Bathrooms old and dated: looks dirty but doesn't really seem to be
- I cannot imagine that this would be ranked so high on Trip Advisor but then again, every traveler has their own ideas of what is good
- Lack of lighting: power goes very often
- Way too many bugs: We wore DEET everywhere on the premises even while sleeping

This place is not frequented by Americans at all and as such most of the guests do not speak English. This goes for most of the staff also.

One more thing to keep in mind: one night we were walking around Siem Reap city center and there were swarms of crickets flying around and getting into people's hair, clothing, food, drinks (as mentioned above) and being a general nuisance. Just an FYI...

The hotel was great except watchout by the pool, it was slippery because of the spillover option.

The front desk is greeeedy!
they tried to sell me on their tour of Angkoer wot and then the shows. I ordered a driver and thye made the poor guide show up!
that cost me $25 + $35 for the guide. All in the name of commision. Dont trust them. You can go out and get a tuk tuk driver, connect with the people and pay them $15 for the day. the guide is worth one day. Mine was honest and nice, he was there for me when I needed him and with a warm geniune smile. Mr PPin Pao-aka Pao. His e-mail is [-] if you want a tour or a honest, sincere, reliable driver.

  • Liked — fairly clean and inexpensive
  • Disliked — rip off artistes at the front desk
