“Very nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

This hotel is excellent and a great value at $14 per night.
Very nice lobby.
Excellent food at cheap prices.
Great room with a decent bath and water pressure.
Clean.
Great, very friendly and helpful staff.
What else could I ask for?
The only issue was some noise in the morning... From a temple I think.

Took a while to get our rooms but staff provided a smaller one while waiting, just we couldn't all fit in there. Once we got our rooms, very happy with cleanliness and amenities.
Walking distance to Pub St, good laundry service over the road and we found cheaper breakfasts 2 doors down.
The free coffee and bananas along with the welcome drink and cold towels on arrival made a very pleasant greeting.
Happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

We found the Golden Temple Villa on Trip Advisor. Thank you. Thank you! From start to end this was a highlight of our travels in Asia. Be organised and contact the hotel in plenty time and they will send a tuk tuk to collect you from the airport - free! When we arrived at the hotel in sweltering heat and humidity we were greeted with a freezing cold face cloth and chilled fruit drink. Our room was on the third floor and as there is no lift, someone carried our suitcases up to our room. Rather them than me. The twin room has 2, 4 poster beds, netting for protection while sleeping. Remember to take insect repellant with you. You'll need it while you temple trek and walk anywhere near grass.

There is a mini bar with bottled water replaced every day - free. This is $9/bottle cheaper than Sofitel charges for their 'welcome' water! There is also free tea, coffee and bananas available 24/7. The bathroom is basic and the water was tepid but it was clean and the towels replaced daily. Shower gel and shampoo is also provided. We also had a free body massage each, which was great.

The best thing about the hotel wasn't actually a thing but a person - Sophea, who is a smiling helpful front of house person who greeted us and helped us with advise through out our stay. She is a shining example of what hospitality needs in the UK. Nothing was too much trouble and she even offered to come in on her day off to help us look for a certain type of Buddah we wanted to take home, on our last day.
We hired a tuk tuk through the hotel to take us on a sunrise to sunset tour of the temples - 13 hours. Great value, but actually too long. It would have been better to split it into 2 shorter days. On another day we hired a tuk tuk for the day and went into the countryside to go to Beng Melea, a very delapitated temple. Definitely worth doing.
All in all, don't even think about staying anywhere else. At £12.93 a night it was the best value I've ever had anywhere. I cannot praise this hotel enough.

Starting from the time I made the reservation the attention was warm- hearted.

The hotel is full with little details that make you fall in love with it.. the garden, the hammocks, the lotus on the fountain, the exquisite lighting..the decoration of the restaurant and the delicious food.

But what wins you over? Their people.. friendly and attentive team that helped me quick in solving a little incident with a driver. All the way from the kind gentleman who took my reservation to the general manager. Special thanks to the always helpful and smiling Miss Sopheak ;)

Make yourself a favor and make Siem Reap an unforgettable place by delighting yourself with the temples of Angkor and by making this place also your home.

I've been there for the second time and it was great, really!
The staff is so very friendly and the whole feeling of this guesthouse is very welcoming.
The only drawback is, that you can see, that the rooms are getting older (e.g. rusty spots in the bathroom, etc...). But all in all I will always recommend this splendid guesthouse!

The golden temple villa is in a prime location in Siem Reap. About 5 min walk from the famous Pub Street and a 2 min walk from super market. They provide great day trips to see the temples at very very reasonable prices. The restaurant within the hotel is superb and ever meal/breakfast was delicious. At $16 a night this place is an absolute bargain! The staff here will do anything for you and when my partner left his passport on the front desk (2 hours before we were getting on a plane!) the hotel drove our passport to us at the airport before we had even realised it was missing. We loved our stay here :)

Stayed here 4 nights with girlfriend. Very warm welcome with delicious welcome drink and nibbles. Above and beyond what we expected.

Room had AC, fan and satellite tv so I could watch the World Cup.

Staff are young student types. You get the sense everyone there is working toward something. They speak good English and are more than willing to handle any request you can ask of them.

Location is fantastic, less than 5 mins stroll away from shops and bars. Their personal tuk-tuk drivers are readily available for anyway further afield.

Food is as cheap as it is delicious! 2-3 dollars for most of the Khmer meals. Meals always come with peanuts before and watermelon after. It leaves you ready to pop. Breakfast was a little basic but never lacking in quantity.

I would never hesitate in recommending them as a base in Siem Reap. Only thing lacking was a nice big pool but you can't have everything!
