“Love it! Can never get enough!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Our stay at Golden Temple Villa was awesome! We love the Khmer artistry and the greens that surrounded us in the villa. The hospitality and the overall service have made our trip at Siem Reap unforgettable. We stayed here for 5 days but can never get enough of this place. It was very comfortable and perfect in term of the room, food, pricing, service and the environment here.

Many thank to trip advisors and all the previous reviews which have guided us to stay here. It was the best choice and we have experienced what had described in the reviews.

As for travelling in Siem Reap, we are glad to have the hotel driver to tour us around places of interest. He was very friendly and helpful from the day he picked us up from the airport throughout the end of our 3 days tour. We felt save and have a peace of mind when travelling with him. Tips: Bring a face mask if you plan to travel in a tuk tuk. The air in Siem Reap was a bit hazy during the dry season.

Golden Temple Villa will definitely be our first choice for the next visit. Highly recommend to all travelers especially in group, couple and solo who are visiting Siem Reap

We stayed 5 nights in the hotel and were charmed by the kindness of the staff. They are so incredibly nice, helpful, with great English knowledge and always smiling. Every wish was fulfilled and the service they offer is wonderful. They organized our tours, have free coffee, tea and bananas all day long, a free and great 30 minutes massage and helped us in any possible way. After an amazing but exhausting day at the temples we were always greeted with cold fresh hand towel. The bar makes great cocktails and the hotel restaurant offers great and very inexpensive food, so that we ended up there for 3 nights. The hotel is very beautiful with many plants, many buddhas sculptures, great colours and nice furniture. We would always stay in this hotel again... we loved it.

Although it is only my first day at GTV and Siem Reap, I cannot say enough about my first impression of this hotel and staff. As I write this, I am waiting for my complimentary 30 minute massage while drinking a complimentary Cambodian coffee in their garden. A very peaceful environment just a short walk from the nightlife on Pub Street. The staff is warm and welcoming from the start, giving a tour of the property and explaining the layout while asking what they can do to improve. At the moment, I can't think of anything! It is perfect!

We had a fantastic stay at the Golden Temple Villa at the start of our 3-week trip through Cambodia and Vietnam. Upon arrival we were upgraded from the $22 a night room to the $28 a night room at no extra charge, which meant my partner and I had a big bed each instead of sharing. The room wasn't huge but there was room for us and our suitcases. We couldn't get much hot water out of the shower but this could have just been user error :) Welcome drinks and snacks was much appreciated as was the free 30-min massage. The reception staff were very friendly and the breakfast at the restaurant was very nice. The front area of the hotel is so relaxing with chairs and a hammock. The hotel is just a short walk to Pub Street.

We booked a tuk-tuk driver and guide through the hotel to take us to the temples for two days and we cannot recommend them enough, they were both fantastic. Our guide Sov Sothik had so much knowledge of Cambodia and the temples and knew which ones to take us to at which times to avoid the biggest crowds. He and the driver also took us to a lesser known floating village to avoid the "touristy" aspect of the one advertised.

Our stay at the Golden Temple villa was wonderful. A beautiful lush entrance with a pond, Buddhas and hammocks all providing a peaceful setting. All the hotel staff we encountered greeted us with huge smiles and seemed to be genuinely interested in making certain we were enjoying our stay.
The rates are reasonable. The rooms are clean and bright.
Great location as it is a 10 minute walk to to market and Pub Street area

Pluses: having air conditioning and room fans.
Wifi is avail to guests.
A welcome refreshing iced tea drink and spiced peanuts to munch on.
Cold fragrant wet hand towels given upon return are refreshingly
Complimentary 30 minute free massage. Full hour massage is $3.00
Complimentary TukTuk pick up upon arrival to Siem Reap Airport or bus station
Free bananas, tea and coffee. The coffee has a wonderful chocolate presence to it. Sweetened milk avail
Tuk Tuk drivers stationed in front of villa. We had "Serat" for 3 days of transporting around. He was great with us. (Hire for the day price of $11-16 to take you to the temples in Ankor Wat).
Breakfast can be included upon confirming hotel reservation for $3.00 per person. Otherwise it might be $4.00. Fruit salads are wonderful, fresh springs rolls are great, served with their own peanut sauce. Mango salad was little heavy on the onions and basil. Service is a little slow as your orders are prepared from scratch at the time of ordering.

Things to keep in mind, no sweetener avail. So bring your own if that is important. Coffee cream is sweetened condensed milk.
Wouldn't recommend upgrading to have a room with a private balcony as it is very, very small and can only be accessed from outside of your hotel room. The private room balconies are directly off the main hotel balcony.

Negatives:The bathrooms are the challenge. Small sized bathrooms and very short hand shower. The water is very strong with iron and stains light colored clothing. Discolors blond or grey hair. It also leaves a metallic smell on your skin and hair.

We were two young couples staying here for 5 nights while visiting the Angkor Temples and I really can't recommend Golden Temple Villa enough. From the second we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. We were taken to the restaurant and given a complimentary drink and peanuts before being shown around the guesthouse and then to our rooms which were laid out with rose petals. Rooms were a nice size and were cleaned every day. Location is great, just a 2 minute walk from the night market. The gardens are beautiful with hammocks and deckchairs to relax in. The restaurant was fantastic, they have a menu with Khmer and Western food at great prices and the daily specials from 4pm-10pm were super super cheap! Favourite meal was the marinated pork ribs and rice for $1.75 on the specials! Free 30 minute massage was just amazing and further 1hr massages can be booked for $3. For just £13 for a room per night I don't think you could get better value anywhere. We loved this place and didn't want to leave!

Couldn't fault this place really for the price. I think reading other comments, the 'upgrade' is quite common. I tried to book the room we were actually upgraded to when we got there and actually there's not a lot in it. Either way, it's great value for money. We had room 72 which is second floor and has a small dedicated balcony accessed via a communal one. It was just lovely.
On the slight downside, The bedding didn't fit so we were pulling the small sheet from one side of the bed to the other and they were very reluctant to give free water in abundance, however, this is a bargain-billy guesthouse, not a 5-star hotel. For the money, it was clean, delicious breakfast, very helpful staff, perfect location. Would definitely recommend.
