Couldn't fault this place really for the price. I think reading other comments, the 'upgrade' is quite common. I tried to book the room we were actually upgraded to when we got there and actually there's not a lot in it. Either way, it's great value for money. We had room 72 which is second floor and has a small dedicated balcony accessed via a communal one. It was just lovely.
On the slight downside, The bedding didn't fit so we were pulling the small sheet from one side of the bed to the other and they were very reluctant to give free water in abundance, however, this is a bargain-billy guesthouse, not a 5-star hotel. For the money, it was clean, delicious breakfast, very helpful staff, perfect location. Would definitely recommend.

Bad things first: room was small, with just a small window looking on the balcony, so privacy was at risk and we had to keep the curtain closed at all times: not nice, but in the had we had no problems with that. Temperature of the room, though, was horribly high when you got in, since the a/c only works with the key inserted in the energy slot.

That said, on to the many good things of this place. Staff was nothing less than great: everybody helpful and smiling, helping us arranging tours and transfers at honest prices (free pickup from the airport, even!). Free tea/coffee and bananas, free massages (which we didn't have time to use but still, nice it's there!), free bikes (although don't expect to be comfortable if you're taller than 170 cm!). Breakfast was excellent and abundant, in a large and shady veranda. Great location, close to the main street, the night market, a bunch of restaurants and the more touristic zone (if you're into that kind of stuff), but very quiet at night since it's in a lateral alley (although there's a school and the usual roosters close to the hotel, so the mornings can be pretty noisy but hey, we had to get up early anyway!).

This is a boutique hotel with immense character of its own. We stayed there for 4 nights, and it felt like the perfect place to come back to after walking around the city and temples. There is an oasis of greenery in this small hotel, with a sense of calm and peace prevailing everywhere. The rooms are done in bright colors and very refreshing compared to most other hotel rooms. The staff is very helpful and kind and tries to accommodate every request. The outdoor seating areas are beautiful. This has to be one of the best small hotels i ve stayed at, and it is great value for money. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Siam Reap. Also, the hotel has a spa, free wifi as well as complimentary fruits, tea, coffee, etc all day. Their breakfast is superb as well!

A terrific place to stay! The hotel staff were amazing, very helpful in assisting us with planning our tour to Angkor, as well as other general information. My brother had an allergic reaction to some of the food in the restaurant, and the staff were very helpful, accompanying us to the nearest pharmacist and paying for the cost of the medicine. The rooms are very clean and spacious, with nice rooms. Upon arrival, we were given a 'welcome drink' as well as a complementary 1/2 hour massage. Very close to the city centre, and decent hotel restaurant, definitely the place to stay in Siem Reap.
