“Great staff, Great service, Great rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2010

The accommodations were wonderful, but the staff and service was what made this place so amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best possible! It's the perfect choice for site seers; they will give you great advice on how to get around and point you in the right direction!

There are many mid-range hotels for around $30-35 in Siem Reap. I was happy with my choice to stay at Prum Bayon for a few reasons. The staff were quite friendly and very helpful. The rooms with pool views have nice little balconies and the pool itself was super clean. A lot of hotels in SE Asia don't take very good care of their pools, so this was a delight, especially after working up a sweat at the temples. If you are considering a hotel on the N6 (ie hotels with pools but not in the center of the action), you can either stay to the west or the east of the town center. The west is definitely a little nicer and Prum Bayon is only less than 5 minutes away by tuk-tuk from the town (most drivers will say $2, but you can get them down to $1 especially if you are coming from the town at night). The bed was comfortable, the room was tastefully decorated, and the TV had movie channels. The only negative things would be the shower and tub in our room have seen a lot of wear and the towels were stained (which is often the case in most hotels in the area, but it still would be nice if a few more hotels would pay more attention to this as a towel that looks dirty is not a good first impression). The breakfast buffet had a wide range, although they could use a heat source for the eggs, as they were cold almost everyday, but the french toast was good. Also, the cleaning staff forgot to lock both locks on the balcony a couple of times, making the room quite easy to break into, but the we told the management so hopefully that won't happen again to future guests. Overall, I would say that this is definitely one of the best hotels for the price range and I would stay again.

I travel a lot and I can say that this is one of those place that you are excited to find and can't wait to come back to. The staff go out of there way to help with every detail. Our group was met at the bus by the staff and they have seen to our every need. It truly is the kind of service is rarely seen these days, even in hotels that are much more expensive. They any time I asked then where I could go do something or find something that I needed they would usually call ahead and have it taken care of before I arrived, or even have it brought to the hotel. I can't wait to come back.

Excellent hotel for the price paid for. 5 min by tuk-tuk to market.
Rooms are clean with marble floor, Not carpetted and good for
those who have sensitive nose to dustmites etc. Staff service
good and food reasonable.

Excellent Hotel!! We will definitely stay in this hotel again. We stayed in a deluxe room, a cozy and decent size room, very clean although not much of a view from our window. Everything in the hotel from the room, food, souvenir shop are reasonably priced. Restaurants' food are delicious with great presentation. Location-wise is not perfect, i.e about 5kms from the town centre or 2kms from Angkor complex. But tuk tuk is available until very late for USD2 to town centre.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days at the hotel. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff, however we couldn't find any tea or coffee making facilities. We heartily recommend this hotel.
