“Just Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

As soon as you enter the main reception building, you can feel the great atmosphere of this property. It is just excellent. Rooms, WiFi, food, spa, pool, free shuttle bus to town, everything is perfect.

I can't fault the Grand Soluxe, we had a great stay. The hotel is huge with an old colonial type of feel, and was almost empty when we were there. The welcome drink and scarf were a nice touch and the breakfasts were delicious. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean, and small touches such as fresh fruit daily were appreciated. There was staff everywhere, who were very formal and often seemed a little confused by our requests.
We dined at the restaurant one night, it is expensive for Siem Reap and the food was good (but not excellent).

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. We had a wonderful time. It was very quiet at the Hotel so it was easy to get service. The rooms are large and quite functional. The bed was king size and so comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, so much choice. The service in the restaurants and around the hotel was excellent. We were collected from the airport and upon departing taken to the bus station. The latter was a bonus for us as it was not included in our 'package'. We had a free foot massage, which was great. I also used the well equipped gym. I would highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Welcomed with lovely mocktail and scarf. Booking was not understood as we were 1 night independent and 3 nights with a tour, took awhile for reception to understand our correct booking. Stayed here 4 nights in April and were booked into the wrong room as well, our next room was not ready so were made very welcome in a suite, while waiting nothing was a bother to the very attentive staff who made us very comfortable. Our 2nd floor room overlooked the huge, well laid out pool and magnificent gardens. The hotel is situated some metres from the main road which makes for even more comfort with no road noise and quiet relaxation. Courtesy bus is available to from the main restaurant/night market area at night. Plenty of friendly staff here to make your stay very comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a pool view.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights in April. I had been to Siem Reap ten years ago, but it was the first time for my husband to visit Angkor Wat and several other temples. We booked online, and check in was easy. Lovely 'mocktail' of welcome. The staff was incredibly attentive and polite. Our room was large, very comfortable, and beautiful. We loved the pool, which happened to be mostly empty when we would take a dip in the evenings. The grounds were lovely and well kept. The Khmer food in the hotel restaurant was EXCELLENT. I loved the fish amok so much, I ate it three nights in a row. We were also pleased with front desk help in arranging a driver for the day,as well as airport pick up and drop offs etc. There were a couple of tour groups while we were there, but the layout of the hotel is such that we still felt we were on a private getaway.

Loved the whole experience. Great pool, great room, polite staff, beautiful grounds, off the road enough to be quiet. Liked the spa, too. This was the best value hotel experience I've had in 25 years.

This hotel is pricey compared to many in Siem Reap but what you get is a very relaxing refuge from the craziness of the town and the crowds at the temples. Immediately you're welcomed with very personal attention at checkin and throughout your stay. The beautiful open air lobby with high ceilings and ceiling fans as well as standing misting fans are such a welcome feel. The gardens and huge freeform pool with swim-up bar are just what you will need between visiting the temples. This hotel is about 400m off the main road where all the other hotels deal with traffic noise and dust. This is the best part. You can actually feel the temperature decrease slightly getting away from that traffic. Our room on the 4th floor looked right over the pool and gardens. (we requested a pool view) We both went to the spa, the treatments are a great deal compared to prices in other hotels we've stayed. There is an outdoor shower in your treatment room and as I was showering it started to rain which was fun! Beds in the rooms are typical for this part of the world, harder than I like. Take a tuk-tuk to Pub Street for shopping and eating and people watching in the evening. Get some gelato at the Blue Pumpkin and then go round the corner to Narrow Street which has some funky shops. Have the tuk tuk wait for you. The return trip is about $7 USD. We loved our stay here and would go back to this same hotel. We got a deal on Expedia -stay 2 nights and the 3rd night is free. Don't rush to just do the temples, extend your stay to enjoy the hotel pool and the spa. You'll be glad you did! If you have younger kids they will love the playground and the pool slide.
