“Not worth the effort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Despite the hundreds waiting for the sunset, we joined them by scrambling up 50 or so very steep and tall stone steps. Not for the faint hearted. However the view from the top could have been anywhere!

“Unique temple outside the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

This was my wife's favorite temple. Though small, the intricate carving are incredible. It is worth the trip outside of town. I'd recommend taking a tuk tuk vs. a car. We really enjoyed the experience driving here in a tuk tuk and feeling as though we were outside as we headed to the temple and drove through towns.

“Banteay Srei - Serene, detailed carvings, and worth the ride”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

This temple is one hour by car from Siem Reap but if you have the time you'll want to stop along the way to visit with some of the local vendors and get a bite to eat. This temple is the Women's Temple and dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva. It is three concentric rectangular buildings with the inner one being the sanctuary. The carvings here are smaller and much more detailed - they are carved in red sandstone which has allowed them to persist and makes for some amazing photos. The site is smaller than most others so you'll want to visit other temples near this site. Along the way we stopped to see a girl cooking a rice and bean dish in bamboo by the side of the road. The items are so inexpensive and all handmade - great gifts and I really like supporting the people on their own land and talking to them as well.

“Very Extrinsic Bantay Srei”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

For me this is a MUST visit temple even it is far. It is a 45minute ride from Lotus Blanc Resort. But when we got there, I don't know what's about it but I really like the extrinsic look of it. It looks very clean and well maintained. Even though most part of the temple is already destroyed, the remaining walls are very extrinsic. It's very appealing and made me appreciate the beauty of a hundred years old temple.

“Stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

We really loved this one - It is a little out of the way, however that also seemed to keep the droves away. I think that most people would either start or end here, When we went it was right in the middle of the day and there was only 1 or 2 other couples and then it was just us when they left, We might have been just lucky though. The tuk tuk ride out there was a nice way to break up a scorcher of an afternoon.
