“Excellent facilities and superb service -- first class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2014

This was our first time to Cambodia and totally enjoyed our trip because of the excellent services provided by the Borei Angkor Resort & Spa at Seim Reap. The facilities, amenities, and the services are second to none. Whenever we asked for anything, it was done immediately with great friendliness. The food is excellent too. I want to especially mention a staff named Lyfong who greeted us when we first arrived, and make it a point to greet us every time he sees us each day throughout our 4 day stay, and checked if we were enjoying our stay, and if there was anything else he could make our stay better. We really appreciate his personal touch and his kindness. Also our tour guide, Sambok Long, who was contracted by the hotel, provided us with a full two-day very informative tour of all the places we wanted to see. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history and always accommodated our wishes. I highly recommend the resort and commend the two gentlemen I named!

Room Tip: a room with the view of the pool area would be nice.

I like the airport transfer provided by the hotel so much. The lobby looks great and welcome drink is nice. Room is large and decors in traditional style. The TV has soooo many programs to choose from, maybe the most I have ever seen in a hotel. I also have to mention that breakfast spread is good and is tasty. I book tours through the hotel. It is a little bit overpriced but is hassle free. Walking to the city centre takes around 20-30 mins. Or one can take a tuktuk for 2 USD. Overall, this hotel is fantastic. I would like to recommend it to anybody visiting Siem Reap.

..firstly all I have to say, my wife and me, we were traveling on our 5th anniversary around Asia and one of our stops was Angkor / Siem Reap, and I booked the hotel on booking, we choose Borei Angkor Resort, before as usual I read the experience of other guest of Borei Angkor Resort on tripadvisor, everything seemed to be fantastic, price was great, 5 star resort, nice room,..
At a certain point the hotel sent me an @ mail , saying they would pick us up from the airport..well they picked us up....then this point all was surreal! It was unbelievable, fantastic, great,... No words to explain...
First the hotel manager ( many thanxx to mrs. Jenny ) made an up-grade, the gave us the suite, they prepared the room with flowers, champagne, fruit,...our bed was decorated beautifully, with "anniversary" written with rose leaves,.....we had by our side a fantastic person, mr Dawind, who organized a very special treatment for us for the days we stayed at e resort.
We felt very special and at home.
Nothing was fake, everybody was gentle, in general to all guests, genuine great Cambodian hospitality.
Mr Dawind organized our tour to Angkor Wat, organized a Tuk Tuk ( thank you mr Mao ) for the whole day! Great person mr Mao, a silent person , little shy, great patience .
Unfortunately at Angkor Wat I had a small accident, I fall on my elbow , once back to the hotel, everybody was very helpful, again mr Dawind brought me in person to the Royal Hospital in a Siem Reap ( very professional, clean, they have everything), stayed with us for more then 2 ours, once back to the hotel, the hotel manager mrs Jenny was waiting at the entrance just to be sure that everything was fine with me.
Then we made a fantastic experience at Resort Spa, 90 min of great massage ( try the 4 hand massage ) ! Our flight was the next day in the evening, the hotel again showed how much they care about their guest, we could stay in our room till late afternoon with no extra charge.
We had a beautiful stay at the Borei Angkor Resort&Spa. It was a pity we had to leave.
Mr Dawind again brought us in person to the airport. What can we say? They made is feel very very special during our stay! Thank you Mrs Jenny, thank you Mr Dawind.
I suggest to everybody , old & young, to make the experience we made at the resort.

Room Tip: We had a great room, but I suppose all roomies are great. They have nice rooms overlooking the pool...

On July the 28th. To Aug. 5th / .14 We stayed at this hotel in room 418, we would like to thank the management and staff who made our stay very pleasant, 3 people who come to mind were outstanding ..... Dawind who was our trip advisor, Jenny at the desk who was in charge, and the Bell boy John ( Phiearen ) who spoke very good English and being at the door was the first one to greet you, he did an outstanding job. There was a good variety of food, not just Cambodian which made our stay more enjoyable. We will recommend this hotel to others and would come back again....... Ray and Barbara Lindley

Room Tip: The lift only goes up to the 3rd floor, and us being on the 4th. Floor we had to walk up the steps w...

When my firend and me go into this hotel, we are shocked by the beautiful lobby which is very nice. There also has sweet welcomed cool drink. The room is big with many facility. Just the slipper looks old and wifi in the room is not strong. However, it is a nice hotel with good services. Thanks for Odyssey Tours booking the hotel for us. Enjoy the stay now!

There has been an exponential increase of tourists visiting Cambodia, in particular Siem Reap for its beautiful temple grounds and rich culture.

As first time travelers to Cambodia and like many couples we wanted to spend a wanderlust five-day trip at Siem Reap exploring its architecture, culture and local cuisines. There is a fierce competition with hotels located in Siem Reap due to its increased popularity as getaway destination. Unlike other travelers we have decided to visit Cambodia during the rainy season, which is roughly from June to late September. Busy season mainly runs from November to February with temples and hotels flooded with tourists. After our extensive research online, we've decided to stay at Borei Ankor and Spa.

Borei is not quite in the heart of city center (which is close to night market and Pub Street) but close enough for you to enjoy quiet night sleeps. I mean, we obviously loved to tour around the night market area but certainly did not want to live too close to the busy streets. Tuk-tuk is only around 2 USD to the city center (sometimes a dollar if you are a good bargainer), 15 USD for a day-tour at the temples if you hustle your own tuk-tuk just outside of the hotel, 20 minutes away from floating village and 15 minutes away from Ankor National Museum - proximity to other locations from our hotel is superb.

We have originally signed up for the Landmark and requested for a pool view room. Little that we know Borei has secretly upgraded us to a honeymoon suite on the fourth floor, with lovely rose pellets, towel art, champagne and fruit platter awaiting for us. Not to mention the buy one get one free massage package as well! The room was extremely spacious, clean and the patio opens up to an amazing view of areas surrounding the hotel and pool. The bathroom lighting was a little bit dark but amenities were sufficient. Let us not forget that we are visiting a developing poor country with some people earning less than 80USD a month – Be grateful that they are providing you with things that majority of the people could barely afford!

Simply by describing staff as friendly is definitely an understatement. Not only staff members were welcoming and kind, they go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. The honeymoon room upgrade, complementary transportation to/from the airport exceeded our expectations at its finest. Special thanks to Borei's manager, Moon, who extended our checkout time to 6pm at night so that we could take a nice shower after our last day of temple visiting and pack before our night flight. No matter how much it is there to see within the country, ultimately it's the people who can completely change your stay experience. Staff members at Borei absolutely deliver an A+ to our overall experience and we greatly appreciate their effort in making our stay perfect!

If we knew prior to our trip how incredible this hotel is we would probably extend our trip for 1-2 days just to fully utilize the facilities they provide. The pool was big enough for multiple families and the Jacuzzis were a nice touch. We did not have a chance to use our spa package but we did sign up for the cooking class which amounted to 25USD a person. It is a bit pricey – but we've had a private lesson with the chef, enriching us with knowledge of local food finds and cooking skills. Not to mention the lovely private table they helped us set up beside a mini pool garden in front of the hotel lobby. The experience allowed us to relax and recharge from all the temple hopping during a hot summer!

Temple tours

We did not book our tours through the hotel because we thought the hotel tours were a little overpriced. There are a few travel agencies in town where you could customize your own tours and the prices are somewhat cheaper. Nevertheless during our second night stay we have spontaneously decided to take a chance to watch the sunrise at Ankorwat. We've rushed to the hospitality desk at around 11pm and staff had no problem getting us a car for the next day for about 65 USD. The fact that we were able to reserve a car given our time limit, we had no complaints – Our driver was professional and we've also had a fulfilling day watching both the sunrise and sunset of the grand Ankorwat.

Our hotel package included buffet breakfast in the morning and the selection was more than we could ask for! There was a noodle bar, two omelet bars and a crepe making corner. There was also a great selection of western food (bacon, sausages, beans) and pastries. For a country that needs to import most of their food selection, Borei has definitely awed us to their appetizing selection of food findings.

So…Yes or no?

A definite yes! There are quite a few disclaimers though, mainly being:

1. We did visit Siem Reap at a low season which means hotels are less crowded. Keep in mind if you are planning a trip during Christmas time or busy season, the flooding of tourists might overwhelm the hotel a bit.
2. We took advantage of the low season discount and so our experience was way more valuable than what we paid for – This discount might not be available during busy times of the year.
3. Be patient and grateful. Keep in mind that you are planning a trip at a developing country with extremely poor conditions, and the hotel is already giving you the best they have. With an open mind and heart you will definitely find your once-in-a-life-time trip rewarding.
4. Travel smart! Be sure to check out their special packages and plan your trip before - Happy travelling.

Room Tip: Request for a pool view room and higher level floors for better view

My husband and I arrived on different flights. When I got to airport and he want there I panicked. The car the hotel sent was great. I didn't have service so the driver gave me his phone so I could call him and called the hotel to see if he got his own ride. Turns out he missed his connection. everyone at hotel were so accommodating. Next day driver went to pick him up(and bc room in car I went too). Returned from airport and concierge and all said to him glad u are here how was flight. Everyone knew his story and wanted him to feel at home after the ordeal. He was really impressed (and doesn't impress easily). We really loved the breakfast and the ambience of the whole place was great. I also utilized the spa and it was a good experience - though relative to what u can get in town a bit overpriced.
