my sister and I were originally booked at casa angkor but after a horrible time at that hotel our local guide took us to his agency where they graciously booked us at the borei angkor in 20 minutes.

we enjoyed the view of the pool and surrounding garden area from the balcony of our room. it was well appointed with a bath tub and a shower. our request for an iron and board was answered with prompt service. breakfast was great with an oriental noodle stall and great french bread and cold cuts plus a variety of fruit among the array on offer.

tuktuk service is $2 to the old market ($1 if you haggle but you chalk up bad karma- the driver cursed all the way to the hotel which is quite a long way from the main area). there's a fruit market outside the hotel where we bought very juicy and fine textured mangoes and rambutans. forget the dessert buffet at the hotel it was a disapointment for us. all in all we enjoyed the hotel!

My wife and I are retired Canadian teachers just back from SE Asia. We loved our stay at the new Borei Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap. Our online room rate through Agoda was less than $90 for this perfect hotel. There is no need to stay in city central since after touring all day all you need is a swim in their beautiful pool and a quiet pool side meal. Don't look any further, this is the place for you. We also have a great driver Sun Same or "Ta", who can be reached at [--]

This hotel has excellent staff willing to help its guests in any way possible. The location isn't ideal, but you can get a tuk-tuk anywhere quite easily. The rooms are great; very spacious and comfortable. The pool was very nice with lots of chairs and umbrellas. The hotel was just lovely and I would highly recommend it.

  • Liked — The hotel was spacious, clean, and full of beautiful decor.
  • Disliked — The location wasn't ideal, but do-able.

$13 a day for wi-fi in room. A bummer after VietNam where it was usually free. They also charge in the business center. Nice hotel with new main building (2008), good a/c, quiet, slightly off a busy commercial road, mini bar ($2.75 for a beer), Kleenex, no wash cloths, shower plus bathtub (Room 251), balcony but no views of anything other than streets and housing. Fair buffet breakfast but note the Angkor Wat sunrise viewers get back to the hotel and descend en-mass to the breakfast. It clears out by 0800. As we were on a prepaid tour I don’t know what the rooms cost. 1.5 liter bottle of water on the street is $1US. They use US dollars there.

  • Liked — Brand new with large confortable rooms

We couldnt believe how this hotel was underpriced for its services. We had a spectacular view from the balcony of our room and we enjoyed the pool after an entire day of walking around the temples. the service to the airport was organized efficiently by the hotel and was included in our stay. breakfast was ample and you could sit outside and enjoy. We were only a little excited when we found two geckos living with us, but they are indeed harmless. The service was over the top and the location was good- you could even walk it to the center. but because of the dirt road conditions and traffic you would probably opt more for a tuk tuk to accompany you.

  • Liked — the service-- very helpful, efficient and hospitable-- and the price was great!
  • Disliked — the geckos in my room:)
