“Nice Big Rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

We had a 128 m2 two bed apartment at a very reasonable price. Staff were very helpful with arranging tours to the temples, service was good as was the breakfast. Internet was slow and sometimes didn't work at all - but maybe not the hotels fault? The room needs a nice big sofa or two to make it a comfortable place to relax in and the bed was far to hard for me making it difficult to sleep.

Other than that all very positive.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

We stayed here for 2 nights in January and found it to be in a great location, only a short tuk-tuk ride to markets and Pub Street. We had a very spacious one bedroom apartment with a huge living room and kitchen area. We had our own washing machine but we didn't use it as we were going home soon. Both rooms have an air-conditioner and it was all very clean. The staff were great and the breakfast was very nice.

Room Tip: Away from the front of the building would be quieter though with the air-conditioning we really didn...

I would recommend Chateau d'Angkor La Residence for holiday in Siem Reap .I was stayed at this hotel for 2 nights .The hotel was beautiful in Coroniel style. The location is very good in the centre of town, very good for sightseeing and you can walk to Pub street where can find many nice restaurants there.Rooms were beautifully decorated ,luxurious, large and comfortable . Staff members were helpful and friendly and very good in English .Wireless internet is provided throughout the hotel.

The look and feel of the hotel is bright and welcoming as is the case with the staff. The rooms are spacious and airy. The food is good and the drinks are well priced. The swimming pool area is pretty and well designed. Location of hotel is also perfect.
Only negative being that the sofa in the living area is very uncomfortable.

Room Tip: The 2 bedroom apartments are brilliant.

The hotel offers great service with very friendly staff and they have clean and very large rooms. Location is ok and walking distance to the old market area (c. 10 min walk). Breakfast and food at the pool are good quality. The rooms could be decorated a bit less sober and the bed was a bit too hard. We enjoyed our stay, but we have stayed in hotels in Cambodia with better value for money.

Pros: huge rooms; friendly staff; good airco; presence of washing machine

Cons: very hard beds; swimming pool area in the shade after 3:30 PM; sterile rooms with tiles giving a cold feeling; uncomfortable furniture (wooden bench); noise when the electricity switches off and on during the night; internet slow; too hot water from the tap (fine for adults, but don't leave your kid in the shower alone as the tap can easily be pushed to 100% hot water)

Dear value guests,

Thank you for taking time to write a review.

We are sorry to read your review with its title of ‘’overrated hotel’’. Kindly be informed, all our hotel reviews are written by our value guests; they rated our property based on their stay experiences, therefore, it's impossible to be overrated.

The black & white and red & white tiles are used for the hotel’s floor (including floor in the room); these tiles reflect the French colony style. This is the property’s concept.

Recently, the state’s electricity supply was not so stable; sometime it’s cut off. We were not the only one property that faced this problem, other properties were the same. Normally, our own generator starts when the state’s electricity is cut off; so, it’s possible that you may hear its sound when it’s running. (usually, the state's electricity is back within 5 -10 minutes).

It’s normal that the hot water comes out after pushing the hot water tab. So, you can just move the tab to right temperature you need.

Very best regards,
The Management.

We stayed one night in this remarkable, beautiful authentic hotel. Only 3 floors, which kept very well the colonial style to this old ( but inside modernised ) traditional building. Very clean all over, Although quiet situated, in the midlle of the town; only 10 min walking distance to Pubstreet, where you find many different restaurants, pubs and massage salons. Staff, like mr PISITH was extreem friendly and helpful. Book your tour through the hotel and you will be sure that the quality will be very good and safe at normal pricing. We had the luck that we were upgraded ( for free ) to the large family appartment of over 100m2; and got an extreem late check out till no less that 20.00 oçlock in the evening, due to late flying to Bangkok. Even the hotel took care of free transportation to the airport by excellent car and driver. This stay was no value for money, but much more value than the price of $ 70,-- could cover!! Top. We can recommend this hotel and her lovely staff to everybody. If ever we return: this will be the place to be!

Take a tuktuk to move in town, which costs only $2,-. Never pay more inside town. Massages you can get for $ 4-5 for half an hour or $8-10 for one hour full body massage. Tip 25 - 50% depending of satisfaction ( in Phnom Phen prices will even be half of this!)

Don't book boattransportation from Siem Reap to Phnom Phen vv as you will be disappointed by these floating coffins; narrow like a submarine, no windows to be opened and most crashed so you see nothing during the missarable trip of 5 hours at $ 35,- pp. As my wife and I came into this Titanic, we returned immediately and refused to sail. NO REFUND of money, neither from the company neither from tourist office DCK travel in Phnom Phen. They did not tell us anything about all this misssery. Avoid this CDK tour office is my strong advice! Is killing.
Take the bus or private car which costs $ 60 -80 and drive 6-7 hours, including lunchtime.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent.
