I only stayed in Siem Reap for 2 days and came to La Noria twice. The first time we tried Amok, sweet and sour shrimps and Chef's recommended salad with crab meat and mango. The salad was a bit sweet since the mango was so reap. It should be a little bit sour to make the best taste. The shrimp was perfect. We whipped every last drop of the sauce. And the lemon juice was the best in town.
We were in a rush for the airport and had second thought about trying some highly recommended places from Trip Advisor. However, after viewing the photos of food from other restaurants, we decided to come back here for the second time and did not regret at all. We ordered fish in caramel sauce with green mango, Khmer curry with pork chops and morning glory and Cambodian coconut flan. Same like the first time, all the plates were empty after 30 minutes. The caramel sauce was perfect with the green mango.
The restaurant was a bit far from the busy dining quarters in the night market and perhaps not many people know of this place. But my husband has come back here every time he is in Siem Reap and I will definitely come back here next time.
Plus, price is reasonable: average order for two people cost around 18 dollars, incl drinks for Asian food. Western food should be just a bit more expensive.
