“Great Boutique Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

This is a lovely little boutique hotel in Siem Reap. Every room is different so have a look at a few before choosing one. Rooms have flat screen TV, comfy bed and air con, although bathrooms are all quite small. The pool is great and was deserted for 3 of the 4 days we were there in July so it was like having a huge villa all to ourselves. The food they serve is good although it is quite expensive by Cambodian standards. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from central Siem Reap. Would definitely return here if I went back to Siem Reap.

I booked the hotel for 2 days n the place is so satisfied, I extend another 2 days stay.

Rooms are creative, spacious, clean & safe. (studio art)
Hotel surrounding are cool & cozy.
Staff are friendly & helpful.
Location is great, not too noisy n rowdy like the city centre but convenient to have good food, laundry, mini market & massage nearby.

Plus points:
1. Close to a lot of stuff - town,a laundry next door, there's a pharmacy opposite the hotel, 2-4 minutes tuk tuk ride to old market, night market, eateries, 30 mins to angkor wat, but quite far from tonle sap. It took us 40 mins one way, but it was the rainy season so probably our tuk tuk was a bit slow?
2. Our room (animal farm) feel very cosy, makes you feel at home, despite the many animal figures in the room. (refer to downpoints no. 5)
3. Pancake served at breakfast was super delicious - the only problem was that the menu said "Banana Pancake - Grilled Pancake inside" but it turned out to be a plain pancake. No complains though, the pancake was very fluffy and awesome.
4. Staff were very accommodating - the breakfast chef came earlier on our last day, to accommodate us who were leaving early to catch our morning flight.
5. Nice water pressure for the showers. Felt like staying in the bathroom for ages if not for its downpoints.
6. Fresh towels and robes everyday!
7. Strong wifi connection in the room
8. They aren't too calculative on water bottles. We requested extra water bottles (they only provide 2 bottles in the fridge everyday) and we were not charged for it. Most 5 star hotels would charge.
9. Friendly staff who tried to accommodate to you as best as they could.
10. There is an iphone charging and speaker dock provided in the room.

Down points:

1. The shower and toilet area (they are separated, like what one review had written) were not very pretty. They are not dirty, but the walls aren't tiled and there are stains on them. Not sure what stains.
2. Pool was a bit deep for a petite Asian like me. I'm 1.5m short and the shallow end of the pool was about 1.7m.
3. The staff don't really speak English so communication was quite hard. I requested for omelette without the ham and sausage (religion reasons) but they served them anyways.
4. They have a display of DVDs for you to borrow but in actual fact not many DVDs were available. All of the titles I chose weren't available.
5. Animal room was nice but too many animal figurines made us quite uncomfortable in the first place. We had to rearrange a few figurines so they were out of sight - after that we were happy with the room.
6. No tea-making facilities (no kettle, no coffee sachets provided in room). Would not be convenient to families with little children who need to drink formula milk.

Overall recommendations:
- Would definitely recommend this to everyone - but not the animal room to Muslims due to the animal figurines. Some might not feel comfortable.

Other recommendations:
- Not recommended to go to Siem Reap in September / October as it is the rainy season. Road to Tonle Sap was flooded and our tuk tuk's engine died on us several times on our way there.

Room Tip: - Choose rooms on the upper floor for privacy. - Would not recommend the animal room to Muslims du...

Chose this hotel mainly because of the funky designs it has. Each room is different in its own unique way. Love the artsy feel the place gives. The room we stayed in was quite clean, with clean towels and bed sheets, very spacious. ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE DESIGN! Quite strategically located, just 10 minutes walk to the city centre (or 2 minutes tuk tuk ride). Free DVDs for rent and travel brochures are available for free.

Staff weren't very well versed in English, so communication was quite a problem. And the air con in our room was so warm! Could barely feel the cold air, which made it quite uncomfortable to sleep in. Also, initially was promised our chosen room "Dream Dream Dreaming" but was given another room when we reached (Animal Farm).

Overall, it's a good place to stay if you can overlook the few flaws.

Pros: Good location, Lovely place, Nice Pool
Cons: Staff who can't speak English, Room was warm (Animal Farm)

i will not recommend this hotel to anyone. and if you do choose to stay here anyway, be careful. take all your personal belongings everywhere with you and have it attached to you at all times. One of the staff STOLE my iPhone and send photos to my iCloud. Unfortunately the management also didn't follow through with any solution or efforts to solve the problem. The rooms came with breakfast, but all the bread were stale so opt for french toast as it best disguise the stale bread.

Reflections has the most insane decor you will ever find in a hotel. The crazy objects and paintings give it a pretty surreal feel, but it really made us laugh. Our room was called 'what a cat thinks' and had strange cat-related pictures all over the walls. But it was clean, comfortable, and the lovely pool is just what you need after a day at the temples. It's only a quick tuk tuk to Pub Street and there is a good laundry next door. The staff are trying really hard but don't really know what they are doing, but it is a fun place to stay.

All rooms are without room numbers but with names. No telephone in the room and need to walk to reception if you have any request. The breakfast was good but the qualities & quantities were different everyday. The housekeeping need to improve on the room clealiness. Everyone was nice but they don't speak english and hard to communicate. We requested for a chinese speaking Tour guide thru email with the Hotel. Mr Mingly Srey - hotel sales staff, requested us to book in advance so that he can arrange a professional chinese speaking tour guide. Most of the times we do not understand him well. We were charged additional of USD10 for the chinese speaking tour guide. We do not mind to pay extra charges for the tour guide but at least Mr Mingly Srey should get us a professional one as promised. They were few tour guides that we met in Angkor Wat, they can speak very good Mandarin but unfortunately not ours. The charges are cheaper than ours too. Luckily we met the front desk staff Mr Leang Teuy. He was very helpfull and willing to assist us in any other requests that really made our stayed unforgetable.
