“Great Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

We originally booked 3 nights at Side Walk and ended up staying for 6, it was a lovely place to have a bit of a break after a few months travelling SEA. The rooms were comfy, spacious and cleaned daily + 2 bottles of water which is always a bonus.. The location is great, being close to all the restaurants but not too close to pub street that you can't sleep at night. It's also not a bad distance from Angkor Wat maybe 7k 15/20 minute bike ride on the crazy roads of Siem Reap, it's an interesting experience. You can rent bikes across the street for $2-$5 depending on what bike you choose.

For us, the 5 stars are earned for the service. The manager, I forget his name but he's the one with no top on, is amazingly friendly, funny and helpful. On a few occasions he would be outside having BBQs with his friends and they invited us to join them, in fact they always invite everyone over so if you get the chance you should. You learn a lot more about the locals over the many beers they throw at you and also get some really yummy pork.. You might even get a dicounted tuk tuk ride the next day..

We were there at the beginning of the week long power cut in Siem Reap, unfortunately they were one of the many unfortunate hotels not to have a generator but we saw them handle the situation well, telling customers of hotels (even cheaper places) that had power, and offering substantial discounts for those that wanted to stay.

All in all, great, relaxed place to stay for those that want comfort at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: $20 for a double fan room is what we went for however I would suggest that if you can afford it pay...

No problems with online reservation.
We stayed 3 days in siam Riep. we stayed in side walk hotel. It has confortable quiet rooms, air conditioned and Fan, working properly and new. Clean rooms, cleaning every day. Towels. Breakfast simple but nice. (scrambled eggs, excelent bread, butter jam) instant coffee.
The pool is new and clean. open until 9 pm.
Good location, next to cheap restaurants and 5 blocks from night market, 1 block to ATMs
FREE WIFI, fast enought, 2 computers in the lobby (i didn't use them).

Room Tip: A/C rooms are not too much expensive.

nice, quiet rooms, wi-fi and two computers in the lobby, a swimming pool in the back yard, ac rooms with satellite tv and a small, very basic breakfast.

the staff is friendly and are willing to help you in whatever you need, without trying to sell you anything you do not want.

the downside would be the cleaning which seemed very superficial and needs improvement.

Good location, clean and friendly staff.
Normally they must pick us at the aeroport but they forgot. So we took a tuk tuk, once at the hotel they refund us the way. The breakfast is good and not too small.
A good point also for the swimming pool very appreciated when you come back from a walk in Angkor site.

The service staff here were so helpful to us I almost found it hard to believe. You might think that they're out to help because they just want a cut for themselves, but I'm more than glad to say that the guys that work at this hotel aren't like that.

My friend and I arrived sometime midnight but we realised that the rooms weren't available till noon. I was expecting to have to sleep on our packs in an alley somewhere but they were nice enough to put us up in the lobby for the night. Not to mention keeping us entertained with lively conversation and a few cans of beer till we fell asleep.

Definitely a spot I'd recommend to everyone. But make sure to book a few days to a week in advance, just to be sure you get that highly-coveted room.

Good points:
Very good location
Very cheap
Free breakfast
Staff organised taxi for us to the Thai border for good price

Bad points:
Not amazingly clean
Have to take off your shoes when coming in
Breakfast not great (though as I say, it was free)
No safe in room
Room keys left on reception counter... Anyone could take them

Overall I can't really complain for the price we paid, but the hotel could be more professionally run.

I booked this hotel through an on-line service, and I am so glad that I listened to the other great reviews, as they are spot on! For service, cleanliness, spaciousness, location to attractions, and most of all the best group of owners and staff, this hotel cannot be beat. I stayed there for two weeks off and on, and always had a wonderful time. They always accomodated me, regardless of the request, and the manager is so laid back and congenial, you will think you are living at home! Do yourself a favor and book this hotel everytime. Tell them Sean DeLany sent you.
