Having to find the right place for my stay in Siem Reap was somewhat difficult. It was my first trip and I wasn't sure which is a better accommodation for me. My friend stumped upon Pippeli Pensione and found out about this wonder place.
Located just few mins walk to the famous pub street and the various night markets are some of the plus point for this property. But what truly made me decided to choose this boutique hotel is the fact that there are only 9 rooms in the whole property, and this means that you get a very personal service with the staff.
And I was right from the very moment I stepped into this resort looking hotel, I was greeted by the friendly frontdesk Marany, and she tried her best to remember us by our name. The check in was fast and we got a balcony room on the second floor. The design of the room is very unique. We did not enter the room from the door but from the balcony sliding door. The room is spacious with nice Chinese Zodiac design on the wall. The absence of door in the shower room is a mystery but I guess the room suits well for couple. It is nice to have many pillows on the bed but it would be nicer to have a mixture of soft and hard pillows to choose from.
Love the breakfast selection, though not many but it is good enough to get may days started and there is an option to have my breakfast in my room or by the small pool. What makes it great is the additional service from the staff that kept asking me am I having enough for breakfast etc. What touched me most was the special Ginger Lime drink to cure my sore throat after the friendly staff knew about my sickness. And knowing that I have to check out the sunrise in Angkor Wat, the night shift staff actually prepared my breakfast and packed for me to bring out, instead of having to buy breakfast from Angkor wat.The small pool in Pippeli, though small but it is sufficient for people who like to get some tanning and some light swimming.
Overall it was a great experience for me in Pippeli, for its great friendly service and the great location around pub street and night markets. If you don't fancy any big chain hotels, and Pippeli is a great choice to stay when you are in Siem Reap.
