“Peaceful stay with excellent staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

After our booking was not honored at another hotel and a very long day of traveling the Berlin Angkor was our savior. They gave us a great rate and the welcome drink and cool towel were very appreciated. Each morning the breakfast of fresh fruit, baguette and eggs or cheese was a delight in the peaceful, shaded paradise they have built on the roof. Our room was quiet, cool and clean and we slept wonderfully each night. The owners are very involved and knowledgeable, and the staff is incredibly attentive and does everything with a smile. We were able to make arrangements for tuk-tuks and buses right at the hotel which was a huge help. The location is very close to the temples and only a 20 minute walk to the center of town. It was nice to be close, but not too close to all of the commotion on Pub Street. Highly recommended!

its a bit out of way from town, but only 15 min bike ride. very close to temples, we biked around the first day, and the second day took one of the tours offered by hotel.
the owners and the nicest people ever and the staff go out of their way to help, even though dont speak much english. rooms are very nice, clean and quiet.
we checked out at 11 am but they let us keep the room untill late at night free of charge because we had to catch a night bus.
the only thing, they should take a Gold Vip bus poster and stop booking bus trips through that company, because its a scam. there is
NO SLEEPING bus. its a death on 2 wheels, with broken seats and no leg room. the company scams people to pay more for the night bus while its no remotely different( if not worse) from the day bus.
do not agrre to take Gold Vip be it to phom penh or shianoukville or wherever else. were not the first backapackers who got screwed by that bus company!

Awesome!!!! Absolutely lovely hotel!!! The location was fabulous! Not in the center (with all the noise) and still just 3 mins drive to night market and pup street. A paradise from the hustle and bustle of the city. Wonderfully helpful owners who arranged travel with no commission on top. Very spacious comfortable and clean rooms. Best value hotel in our travel in Cambodia and Thailand and one of the best guesthouse I have ever stayed in with the most amazing friendly staff. Great.

No need to keep searching a place to stay in Seam Reap... you have already found it!!
Forget any previous comment about Berlin Angkor Guesthouse as they recently changed their name to Firefly Guesthouse and the owners too. This hopeful and adorable couple ruling this new project have mixed up the standard european demands without losing cambodian style.

The whole building has been refurbished and redesigned. This hotel is definetely in our top 3 hotels after being travelling for more than two months around the south-east of Asia. Moreover the tuk-tuk service was more than excellent and the best way to visit the whole Angkor temples and moving around Siem Reap. The staff is friendly, attentive and everyone speak english perfectly. They also help you arranging travels and anything you need. Good food, bycicles, services, cable TV (HBO, CineMax, Discovery Channel, TVE, ...) and WIFI everywhere. What else? Enjoy your stay traveller!!

I was staying for 4 days in Siem Reap and was very lucky to find this Guesthouse. It is a 5 minute ride away from the noisy town center and very close to the entrance to Angkor Wat. My room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. They organised my tours to the temples and took care of everything for me. Great breakfast. The Managers speak German, English and Spanish and could give me good tips for my trip to the North of Cambodia. If I can come back to Siem Reap I will definitively stay at this Guesthouse again.

I stayed at the Berlin Angkor Guesthouse for two months while I was working nearby and found it a home away from home! Rolf, the manager, and his staff Aly and Ra were very friendly and very helpful - I miss our morning and evening conversations. My room was comfortable and clean and the included breakfast was a nice addition. The location, although a 45 minute walk from town or a 10 minute ride, is quiet. I would recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for a low budget place to stay - excellent value for the money.
