Description: We created Il Forno in 2011 after many years dreaming of opening a traditional Italian Restaurant outside Italy where we would serve authentic Italian food like our grandmothers used to cook. The only addition to our grandmother's kitchen was the building of an original stone brick fire wood oven from where to make pizzas according to the southern italian tradition. We pride to import every single ingredient ( veggie & fruits aside)on our menu directly from Italy and to make all our food home made and fresh daily. Our fantastic team of chefs/cooks start their day very early to prepare our pizza dough that need 10/12 hours before its naturally risen and to prepare home made tagliatelle, tortellini , gnocchi and so on , exactly like we used to in Italy half a century ago.

“Worth a Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

We ate here after being handed a menu as we walked down Pub Street. Food was delicious. We had bruschetta as a starter.I had the 4 cheese gnocchi which was cooked to perfection. My husband the pasta with ham for mains. A few beers and a couple of glasses of red wine we left more than satisfied. Bill came in at $30 Usd. Would definitely recommend this place.

“Authentic italian food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

The restaurant is cozy, in the middle of the center heart of Siem Reap. The provide Pizza and Pasta but also more authentic food like Parmigiana (Eggplant with Cheese & Tomato), which was delicious. Also the pasta was al dente and the pizza crusty. No place has been left for the dessert unfortunately, but even they looked delicious. The problem there, like alsmost everywhere is Asia is, that the beer gets warm quite soon, as the air temperature is quite high. So just trink it quickly or share it :) Best italian place in Siem Reap

“Pizza … this is the place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

Once again we asked our hotel for recommendation of an Italian restaurant for our lunch.

The hotel staff recommended this hidden place called Il Forno … he actually took us to the restaurant. We went just before lunch and they just pretty much opened.

The decor is rustic Italian … white and green theme with bricks wall …. nice feel.

We were not too sure since we were the only people there.

We both ordered one pizza each … one Formaggi and one Salami. Oh yeah … we were not disappointed at all. Both pizzas were delicious … thin crust and perfectly cooked and the topping … one very cheesy as it is suppose to be and the spicy salami also great … also great once you add chili oil … yum.

While we were eating … the people started coming in and some came to do take away. If you fancy pizza when you in Siem Reap … I would highly recommended his place … you will not be disappointed.

“Suprising to find such a good Italian in Asia.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

I was simply amazed to find this restaurant in the middle of a very touristy area. The pasta's, pizza and lasagna's we've tasted were up to standard and even surpassed most of the Italian restaurants I've been to in Europe (and even in Italy). Also the ambience and staff seem fantastic. It has a very authentic Italian feel to it from the moment you set foot inside.

If you are bored with Asian food, don't look further and eat here !

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013 via mobile

After walking around the markets , i stumbled across" il forno" quite by accident.
So glad i did , my meal was delicious . I had the zucchini for appertiser & the home made gnocchi for main. Both meals were wonderful and the gnocchi was so light & fluffy, not stodgy at all.
The service was very good & the owner & staff were lovely & very attentive.
If you want great authentic italian food , then this is the place to go.
