“See the real Cambodia - an honest, moving, exciting way to visit the region...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2012

We spent 3 days in Cambodia. Frankly, I was not aware that we would get our very own tour guide, was rather expecting a group tour... We felt like kings.
The Steung Siem Reap hotel was very nice for the price, with perfect location, 1-2 minutes' walk from Pub Street and all the bars and restaurants.
We will always remember Sopheap - a great person and great guide, who told us so many interesting things (in very good English, unlike tour guides in Thailand...) and organized everything well (f.ex. rearranged our day schedule so that we can see Angkor Wat in the best daylight early in the afternoon). Was honest enough and proud of his country to show us not only the ancient wonders but also the real cambodian rural life. It was moving to see smiling friendly faces of Cambodians coping with the hardships of everyday life, the mine-victims proudly striving to earn their living instead of begging, the joyful countryside weddings, the hard fishermen's work on Tonle Sap... Definitely deserves a raise ...;-)
And Jim the tuk tuk driver with perfect timing, who gave us an adequate amount of thrills in his super vehicle...
Will definitely recommend your trip packages to my friends.

“The Best Trip Ever :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2012

I stumbled into the Siem Reap Rooms website while scouting for the potential ground arrangement for my Cambodia trip. Without hesitation, I immediately write an email to Phil and surprisingly response come in 24 hours time! That somehow gave me a very good impression about this company.

Everything being arranged professionally, from the moment we arrived at the airport, the pickup was on time. And we are blessed to have an amazing tour guide by the name Nak, and a fun driver called Jim. Nak is a young wonderful tour guide full with experience; questions about the history, temple structures and designs, the concepts, everything you want to know Angkor Wat and its surrouding being answered clearly. What amazed me is that he can somehow discuss the comparison and similarities when I pointed out Borobudur in Jogjakarta with Angkor Wat :) and of course being an outsider, besides the temples and history, we cant help ourselves but to asked him about Cambodia especially during the war, he glad to share and relate his personal experience about it openly. I knew some Cambodians might not want to discuss about it, especially to a foreigner, but Nak is totally different. It somehow help us to understand more about this beautiful country and its people.

It's like going for a school field trip. Even better than reading a text book.

Nak also got talents in finding the perfect angle for photography shots! While I was struggling with the gears, he pointed out places where amazing shots can be achieved.
That somehow help us A LOT, for first-timer like us, we dont have much time to scout for places especially when crowds at the temple getting bigger and biggers.

We spent approximately 4 days in Siem Reap before heading to Phnom Penh. Phil has also went extra miles by assisting us to purchase the bus ticket. The bus company he recommended was uberly awesome, reliable and comfortable. We reach Phnom Penh within 5 hours time, and things flow as per plan without delays in Phnom Penh.

Airport transfer on our last day in Siem Reap also was excellent. The driver reach our hostel early than what we expected.

Thank you Siem Reap Rooms for making our journey in this beautiful country the most memorable one. Me and my travelling partner both decided that this trip would be the perfect benchmark for the very next adventure!

All the best!

“Perfectly amazing trip - thanks to Siem Reap Rooms Tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2011

I found Siem Reap Rooms Tours on a Google Search and ever-so-glad I did! I contacted Phil via email to make arrangements for a 2-day tour and hotel stay and he was prompt and extremely helpful. Every question I sent had an answer within 24 hours.

We arrived to the fantastic airport to find our guide Tokla and driver David waiting for us with cold water. It was a wonderful way to start our trip and Tokla and David didn't let us down one bit.

Our hotel - Victoria Angkor Resort and Spa - was fabulous. A beautiful colonial style resort with everything needed to be pampered. The Happy Hour was a delightful surprise and the morning buffet and French restaurant absolutely delicious.

Our tour was excellently planned but thankfully flexible as we wanted to see Angkor Wat at sunrise. We enjoyed the tour of the temples, the floating village, the artisan village, and the dinner/show was delightful. Tokla was an extremely cheerful, friendly, and knowledgeable guide. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time.

I would highly recommend a trip to Siem Reap and to have Siem Reap Rooms arrange your tour. Phil and his staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We had an amazing trip thanks to them!

Note: we went without our small children, but I think Siem Reap would be an excellent place to tour with kids. It does get very hot at the temples between hours of 10am and 3pm, so we would have adjusted our schedule accordingly to accommodate the kids.

“All ought to visit Siem Reap and Angkor!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2011

Lady 66 years old going solo - buying a package with hotel and guiding of Angkor in Siem Reap on the internet: Madness? Being picked up by someone you do not know at the airport: Madness? Well, both I and the family were a bit scared! I trusted the first travel agency that popped up on Google: Siem Reap Rooms. The mailing with Phil Hogg was a delight. So was my driver David and my guide Lion. My Hotel Steung Siem Reap was right in middle of town, beautiful French colony style, with a pool to cool off. Right by the best food I tasted in Cambodia - at Le Grand Cafe by The Old Market, where the "Opera" goes on right in the street in front of you. The whole experience was just excellent. Then David saw me safely into the hands of the cruise manager of the Mekong Cruise boat Toum Tiou II for 7 days down the rivers to Saigon. Also rated to Excellent! Also bought through Google, from Do Ha in Hanoi - Indo-China Treks
Last days of October: Perfect!
The Cambodian people: Wonderfully friendly and helpful!

We just returned from a family vacation in Cambodia, and I just had to write a review for Siem Reap Rooms -- they were fantastic. Phil was prompt in replying to all my emails and provided a well organized itinerary for us. Our guide, Muni, spent 3 days showing us all around, and he was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and knew just what to do. He even entertained the kids while they waited in the shade of the temple (there were some steep stairs they couldn't go on) with riddles and games. Our driver provided cold water in the van for us, and was never a minute late. All of the arrangements went so smoothly, we never had to worry about anything. Thanks again for making our trip to Cambodia so enjoyable. I will definitely recommend Siem Reap Rooms to anyone looking for knowledgeable guide and tour company.
