“Oasis in dusty Siem Reap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

I've stayed at Bunwin a few times now and have been thoroughly impressed with almost every aspect of this delightful property. The staff are invariably exceptional: gentle, polite, considerate and genuinely concerned about making every guest comfortable and satisfied. The premises is beautifully designed and the rooms generously sized, tastefully decorated and remarkably private from their neighbour. The single drawback is the location, ie 3 km from town on a side street off dusty National Road 6, although this is not really an issue as every non-local guest is issued with a mobile phone with which they can call a hotel tuk tuk 24h a day for pick up and drop off as required. As far as value for money, I don't know of anything close. I am looking forward to my next stay, and cannot recommend Bunwin highly enough.

We stayed for five nights this september. Everything was perfect and the room was very big ; we stayed in the cheapest one, but the room was enormous, about 30 square meter with a huge tub and a shower. The room with all the amenities: A/C, safety box, free bottles of water and a plate of fruit. Furthermore they give us two free traditional khemer massages of 1h because we stayed five nights. Another great thing was the free service of tuk-tuk that hey offer, giving a mobil phone to call when you want to pick up and return to the hotel. All the staff were enjoyable and professional. The breakfast and the lunch and dinner were perfect. I will recommend for sure in your stay in Siem Reap. The only thing to improve was the street that arrives to the hotel (about 150m) with some bumps in the road.

We would highly recommend to stay here anytime! My hubby and I felt pampered with its fantastic hotel setting, always smiling n courteous staff, best yet - free tuk-tuk rides to town centre which is just 10 minutes away from the hotel. My favourite part was breakfast everyday, as it is made fresh to your order as per menu choice available.

As we stayed for 4 nights, we were surprised that we'll get an hour free massage! That made our day as we know we'll need it soon after visiting temples in the days to come.

The hotel is not on a regular main central location, but it's great if you want a less noisy place to relax after your adventurous day. The staff at Bunwin is always ready to assist you. We will stay there again if we visit Siem Reap, or try its sister hotel - The Moon Boutique Hotel.

I normally don't write reviews, but I feel that the staff at the Bunwin deserve some praise:

My friends and I traveled to Cambodia in April 2013, and Siem Reap/Angkor Wat was our last destination. The Bunwin's extremely gracious staff, all-inclusive transportation services and the clean and beautiful accommodations made our stay in Siem Reap especially memorable.

Like most travelers, we read the reviews on Tripadvisor before booking a room at the Bunwin and we understood that it wasn't as close to the center of the city as some other hotels. But we knew we would be wiped out by the end of this trip, and figured that the complimentary tuk tuk services around town and bus station/airport transfers would be well worth it. And we were right. Having a sort of personal chauffeur makes all the difference in the world, especially after days of flagging down and haggling with tuk tuk drivers all over Cambodia (it's exhausting!). Plus, the city is just a few minutes away on smooth pavement (the alley and driveway into the hotel is not paved, however).

The staff really goes out of the way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Our flight out of Siem Reap was in the evening, and the staff was generous enough to let us occupy the room until our flight. I know late check-outs are contingent on room availability, but they were super accommodating. When the flight got delayed another hour or so, they were understanding and made proper arrangements for our limo to the airport.

PS. We loved having the massage therapists from the Bunwin's sister hotel, Moon Boutique Hotel visit us in our room at the Bunwin. The massage comes to you AND you get a good discount! We later returned to Moon Boutique Hotel in the city and got another massage there with the Bunwin discount as well.

PPS. Book a sunrise trip to Angkor Wat with the hotel. The staff will pack you a cute breakfast to go. Make sure you get a mobile phone from the front desk and the number of your tour guide/driver so you can find him easily between temple-hopping.

My brother, friend and I stayed here for five nights in August and I can honestly say that this was the most well looked after we have ever been. Our stay started off a little rocky as I had booked the room for the wrong month but the bunwin team apologised for my mistake (!) and then gave us a welcome drink whilst we waited ten minutes for them to organise our lovely room. Our stay continued on in this fashion where nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is beautiful however it is the amazing staff that makes this the best place we have ever stayed. The team organised all our trips, providing local recommendations and picking us up at every hour of the day or night.

We will be back!

Stayed here three nights while touring the Angkor World Heritage Sites. Located off a main road, you arrive via a hotel-provided Tuk-Tuk to this small boutique hotel surrounded by vegetation. The hotel staff is excellent, and you are greeted with cold washcloth and a cold drink. The rooms are spacious and simple. Beds are excellent, comfortable. Air conditioning in the room can be a bit noisy but when adjusted appropriately can be brought down to a barely audible hum. Breakfast is excellent - an assortment of both western and easter options. Ate in the afternoon a few times and the food prepared was excellent. Wifi worked in the room, but in the lobby / breakfast area did not get a good signal. Perhaps the most impressive offering at the Bunwin is free Tuk-Tuk service from the hotel to the city center, and airport. When you want to go downtown for the night the give you a cellphone and you just call when you are ready to return to the hotel. That in my opinion is a creative discriminator! Would I stay at the Bunwin again? Without question, YES!

Room Tip: All the rooms are located around the pool, on a single level. The corner room was very private.

We stayed for 5 nights at this simple and no frills hotel. The room was spacious and bathrooms were clean. They offer free tuk tuk services within the city which was quite convenient and also free airport pick up and drop. I liked the views from the small restaurant, lots of bamboo trees and quite green. We only had breakfast at the restaurant as it was included in our package, which was also simple, being vegetarians the menu was restricted, but good service and friendly staff. The only problem we found was the approach road to the hotel which was full of pot holes. Thankfully it is only about 200 m or so.
