After a long trip in south east Asia, this hotel has been by far the best! The hotel design is very authentic Cambodian and beautiful. Immediately as I arrived I was greeted by 2 very helpful and kind staff and given a drink and a refresher towel - which in this heat - was needed. I then received (as I've read other people have too) a list of complimentary offers including a free 1hr massage, dinner, a picnic basket and more! I was then guided to my room where my bed was covered in frangipani flower petals and given a delicious welcome snack of sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaf and fresh salted peanuts and freshly squeezed lemonade. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anybody travelling in siem reap!

For a small hotel the Golden Temple certainly packs a punch. From the moment we arrived dusty and tired after our 6 hours bus trip from Phnom Penh the staff at the Golden Temple could not have done more the reception staff are lovely genuine people who go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We were greeted by the hotel manager and his staff with drinks and nibbles as soon as we arrived and then more were taken up to our room. Each time we came through reception there was someone there with a friendly smile and cold towels which were extremly welcome and it was these little touches that make the stay unforgettable. I can highly receommend the Spa facilities and the restaurant which does a great Fish Amok and Khmer curry. Excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Higher floors overlooking the pool

Hotel managers don't need to study anything, a short stay at the Golden Temple will teach them everything they need to know about hospitality.

What can I say about this hotel that other people haven't said already? Perhaps that it is better to book directly through their website, as you get other "perks".

They have paid attention to every detail, and it is very relaxing to stay here. Our room was on the ground floor, perhaps the only negative thing would be that there was a bit of noise in the morning. Get a room on the upper floors. Other than that, everything was perfect and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to my best friends.

Great place, great SPA, great food, great laundry service, great transportation services, nice room, very clean, very pleasant in general.

Stay here and stop looking, you will love this place, just like everyone else.

A recommendation for the managers: it would be nice if you could build a little fitness room somewhere.

From the moment of arrival we were welcomed with a friendly greeting and drinks and greeted by the manager of the hotel (nice touch). As we checked in at 9.30am, was surprised that our room was ready at 10.00am. We had booked the ground floor deluxe(No pool view). This was great we had a small area outside our room where we could sit and read and have a drink or two, please note that hostel next door does overlook this area $69.99USD per night.

The bathroom is a wet area, no bath, toilet area does get wet. Rooms were spacious with dark furniture , walls are brightly coloured which gives a warmly feel to it.

As we had decided to stay for 3 nights, decided to book direct with hotel as use the VIP services, wonderful, Complimentary massages were so good, had to have one every day $6.00USD, amazing.

Prices at the hotel for food and beverages were very competitive. Jug of Tequila sunrise(4 large glasses) for $8.00USD. Food average prices $2.50-$5.00USD, Had two lovely meals at the hotel and many drinks around the lovely pool.

Pool area isn't large, 1 or two times all sunlounges were taken, no problems, sat in the jacuzzi. Great area to relax after a hard day in the heat touring the temples.

Staff are very attentive(This is a bit overwhelming at times), free tea and some beautiful fruit every time I used the computer.

Breakfast was of a good quality and plentiful.

What made this hotel so special was it's beautiful staff and there friendliness.

Wish we had stayed longer.

Room Tip: Ground floor pool rooms are right in front of the pool, so little privacy(they do have a curtain to...

From the on line booking process and email communication over the months preceding our visit until the moment we checked out we had nothing but great experiences with the Golden Temple Hotel. We didn't t decide until the last minute how were going to get from Phnom Penh to Siem Riep but once we decided on the bus a brief email to the hotel was all that was required to set up a free transfer to the hotel the minute we got off the bus...a quick trip through town and we were set up in a great room with welcoming drinks, cold towels and snacks....and then they snuck us in for a free set dinner at 8:30 at night! The hotel had two DVD's in our room for us to see -one was on the history of Angkor Wat and the other was the epic movie The Killing Fields...both were great to give us some history before we even left the hotel the first night. The hotel also provides well in advance a number of sample agendas for you so you can plan the best use of your time whether you are in Siem Riep for a day or a week...and then they will arrange transport for the various excursions you may want to do.
The pool area is fantastic and the service there(with the exception of the inability to communicate what a bucket of ice was) was exceptional. Free peanuts and fresh fruit every afternoon by the smiling staff! The food at the restaurant was good and reasonably priced but we found lots of other options in the area that were better. As mentioned in other reviews the location isn't the greatest but it's only a short walk to Pub Street and a Tuk Tuk ride anywhere else.
We took advantage of the massages that were included in our bookings and visited the spa on short notice a couple of other times....good value for the price, however it is best that you make sure that you are the only ones booked in as the massage tables are in close proximity and all are open to each other.
The staff was exceedingly helpful...prepared us breakfast early on mornings we were out and about and made us lunches to take with us...always friendly. By the end of our stay it felt as if we were coming home to our own little place- with the best staff we found in the 4 weeks we travelled through SE Asia.
Our stay ended with a free transfer to the airport...these guys do all the little things right -it was great value for the price!

I just returned from a 2 week trip around SE Asia, and this was my favorite hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly! From the moment we walked into the lobby, we were greated with warm smiles. After we completed the check-in process, the manager came over and introduced himself as well (very nice and classy touch). The rooms were good (not fancy), but since we were only there for 1 night, it was perfect. The pool area was so nice after walking around the temples for the day. I would definitely go back to this hotel as well as recommend for anyone going to Siem Reap.
